Dimitri Quote ''and many of other players too!'' end quote.

In the words of Maggy Thatcher; NAME THEM! Tell me who they are.

You've listed 5 players so far.
They're mainly forwards.
Wingers.

Your team doesn't even consist of reserves let alone halves and whatnot.
WA and rugby League = .1%.

What a wasted avenue.

Here, I've got an idea....why don't BRS, NZ, MLB, Cowboys, Reds, ADL, Crushers, Gold Coast and the second NZ team f*ck off and start its own comp!
Get this....it's NRL...NSW rugby league! We started this sh*t and you other cums high jacked it! F*ck the lot of you!

OMG you must be ancient and certainly very ignorant. NSW Rugby League ????? Don't think so....its 2009, man.

It's not about not liking a topic, it's about having the 49,674th thread dedicated to the same topic, all because the thread creator obviously thinks his opinion is more important than everyone elses on the matter :sleeper:

Timmah doesn't this tell you there is enormous interest in expanding the game:D

Hunty, you are about to be cannon fodder, mate!

Admire your bravery

No wonder you confuse people Loudy....with one post you say something positive for expansion and next post, you applaud someone who wants to bring back Glebe (whoever they may be) back into the comp:?

qld is the capital for league

game needs to shift there so it won't die

enough said

The game needs to build the existing clubs for at least ten years and turn them into super clubs. Then when the time is right and they have a stadium look at bringing in sunshine coast

I applauded his bravery.

Timmah, they were the Dirty Reds - which is actually more appropriate.

Anyway, I miss Annandale more. ****weeps for the loss of the 'Dales****

Due to a poor TV contract thanks to lack of geographical spread of clubs. Expansion sorts that out. WA and CC, then SEQ and Wellington

Next

I reckon WA and to a lesser extent Wellington, will increase the costs far too much.

I just cant see the small population of Perth supporting League financially, especially when the AFL is heavily entrenched there.

I cant imagine a central coast team would help much in the way of TV revenue though.

Not saying im against the team , but if there is a viable NZ option it would be more lucrative for the NRL. Not to mention more important for the future of rugby league.

The AFL is heavily entrenched there because the original reds were culled.

The Force have showed that is very possible to make a massive profit and get huge support

Perth is not a small city

Central Coast Bears - In a TV revenue regard Norths will not really add anything to the pie (but primarily take) because they do not really add many new potential RL viewers (some disgrunted back but not many). Most CC people already watch RL on a regular basis and are affiliated with an NRL team already. I am not against Norths, on a crowd and financial basis they would be solid (however certainly not the every week sellout some think)

All cases need to be thought out.

South Queensland - A second Brisbane team might add more FTA money because then Nine can show another Qld Team each weekend but probably no more Pay TV Money. They would also have solid financial and crowd potential (which will squeeze AFL a bit) . If

West Australia Reds - Perth certainly has potential to increase the pie significantly (note potential) TV crowds ratings have been fairly encouraging and with a local side on FTA each weekend that would certainly climb considerably which would add to the FTA pie. They are the strongest RL state outside QLD/NSW and have shown that they can bring through juniors. Crowds have been respectable and with a decent stadium could grow them. WA people are not as parocial with Aussie Rules compared to Victorians as well which bodes well. (take this from a Victorian who has lived in WA) This area is the largest RISK REWARD areait can prove that it has the financial capacity and supporter capacity to even pull modest crowds (say 10 - 12 thousand) then the increase in FTA finance alone should cover there base. PAY TV increase? - not sure, chances are it would only initially increase pay tv subscription if the Reds were unable to be seen each and every week (or atleast not live but that presents a problem on other fields.

Southern Orcas - Wellington/ Southern NZ - if the finance is there to make it viable, then the TV finance increase will easily cover their addition (in regards to grants etc). Juniors are easy, they are a given. Crowds might be a concern (as they seem fickle) HOWEVER if they were spread over the 3 or four cities (eg. Wellington/Christchurch/Palmerston North/Rotorua/Dunedin/New Plymouth - getting cities to actually bid on homes games for a number of years then good profits could be made) The potential to help the international game (and the money and profile that brings) also is important

There is also the PNG/Pacific Ideas which intrigue me but I do think that each one of these atleast financially is more important.

I don't think it is a question of whether these teams/Areas should be added but when and who first.

I think the question must be answered "Why should your team/area be in first?

The first incarnation of the reds also had years of planning. Whilst the Rams was just a Super League afterthought because they couldnt get Melbourne.

We must have a proper effort for Perth in RL's 3rd biggest state

I actually think the split WA/SA team would work well. It just needs the other clubs to give them leeway (that is possibly play a 'home' game in Adelaide like the Sharks are planning).

A 70/30 split of games between Perth and Adelaide would be fair and enough to maintain an interest in SA.

The Reds name will be more than acceptable but the Western part would need a re-think.
