Has Avignon sold out yet? You would have to say with all the hype now we could have got 20,000+ to that game.

Agreed, close to a sell out before the SBW affair, could have seriously pushed the capacity of a medium sized ground (25-35k) somewhere like Toulouse.

Just talked a few of my mates into coming to the final. 3 of them aren't rugby league people but are happy to come along after I talked them into coming to the Magic Weekend and they enjoyed that.

Just went to check tickets and couldn't believe you could get adult tickets for £25 - insane value.

Really looking forward to it.

73,000 is the world record crowd for a RL international - that could well be toppled in the SF. The record crowd for a world cup in either code is 82,957 (2003 RUWC Final). Wouldn't that put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Even if it is toppled it wouldn't deserve to hold the record, being a double header and all.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of the double header. But it shouldn't hold the record.

I don't think so. 18k is about the limit for a game in France at present. Most people would have assumed SBW would be playing so I don't think the latest developments have changed much. Looks like about 1000 seats left maximum at Avignon. Not sure whether there are standing room tickets or not.

Seems a little over half of Perpignan has been sold, so about 5,500.

It did previously for a while.

What changed?

Positives I see are;

Playing out of Wembley ( obviously you still could, but it would be to a half empty stadium)

Equal time for the semi final winners to the final. ( I think this is a really big deal in a physical sport, really evens the field)

Edit: read your post incorrectly, thought you said 'I did for a while'

60-70% sold in Perpignan, selling well.
~250 seats left in Avignon. Who would have thought the first game to sell out would be in France?

So, anybody feel like posting current tickets sold for each of the games?

If someone could post stadium capacities for each stadium too that'd be great. I'd do it but I'm on my phone atm and it's a bitch.
