As I've said before, the UK are well ahead in acknowledging the fact that cyber abuse is becoming more and more prevalent. They know the world is changing, that simply standing by and letting this sort of thing go unnoticed has bigger implications further down the line. It's up to the law makers in this case to see a little further than the fact Robbie Farah was subjected to that sort of vileness.

Someone in Aus has already been gaoled for this, and someone else has been given a suspended sentence for trolling a Facebook tribute page with porn. What do you want, the death sentence?

Mild insults. Without having seen the actual tweet, I'm not so certain that describing sexually what you'd do to a recently deceased person counts as a mild insult. But hey, that's your opinion. And while we're on opinions, not sure that tweeting those descriptions counts as one.

I'm not for a world of bubble wrap and punishing anything 'mildly offensive'. I am for a world where tweets like the one that started this furore are punished. Call him a androtop all you want, that's easy to shrug off. 'Mild insults' involving necrophilia, not so much.

Nobody knows what another person will find offensive. While Farah took issue with that, somebody else could be equally offended if a comment was made in regards to their race, or there sexuality. So where do you draw the line? You can't draw a line in the sand as to what's offensive and what isn't, it's a personal thing.
