Yes and Rudd promised more affordable homes..that was one of his election promises..howard may have been spending, but I'd rather a PM who will spend on our national passions (sport) rather than a education policy that gives every bludger a computer. Waste of time. Rudd's reign will be a failure!

So school kids are bludgers and governments are better off spending money on sport than education?

I'd rather a government spend money on education than a $3 million fishing hall of fame

Also, if you knew interest rates were going up, why did you leave that out of your wank over Howard?

Okay enough tooling around with you kids. Im getting serious for a moment.

Is it really going to make that much of a difference t oteh NRl if 10 million is not given to them. I mean if i promised you 5 bucks and then didnt give it, you might get pissed off at first, but in the scheme of things you have your own money to buy that beer anyway.

The NRL will be fine. but it wont make a difference to the economy. its false Kevin Rudd panic solutions. he is beside himself and wont know what to do when the real strain starts.

And teh prick is still giving dosh to AFL.

I'm sure melon you will also remember that the last 16 years of growth were started by Keating when he floated the dollar, deregulated financial and labour markets, got inflation under control, enacted compulsory super, etc.

My God, Melon you would have to be the biggest d!ckhead on the planet! I thought you were just the dumbest bloke on the forum but its gone way beyond that now.

What would you prefer, a liberal government that made a stack of promises before the election and then just reneged after, or a labor govt that says knows they've made some promises they probably shouldn't have but tries to make it work anyway? All Polly's are Scumbags but at least Rudd should be applauded for trying to uphold some promises. Hell, Howard probably would have just resigned by now and left it all to Costello to sort out.

Most people have a computer, why the heck do we need a policy that was purely to sell a election that is all. Not to mention how stupid it is with most people having access to not just one but many computers! Howard spent on education, he increased funding for education. He just increased sport funding which was smary as well. IMO the most stupid thing is this health rubbish that KRudd is gpoing on about. It is fine as it is, if you want good service you can get it by paying for Private Health Insurance!

Nothing is funnier in Australia than seeing someone like you blindly support a politician like he's your father or best friend.

Howard will go down as one of the most damaging inflences on Australian society in many generations. You can also include Iraq society - unjustified invasions based on pre-fabrictated lies and mass murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians can often be destabilising.

Howard was an egomaniac who would buy. sell, destroy anything to remain in power. He is known as a great politician because he would do anything, no matter how low, to stay in power. This is nothing to be proud of. Never forget - "there are core and non-core promises". Translation: I will lie and cheat and do anything to serve my own purpose - and there's not a thing you can do about it.

One great achivement in Howard's reign: under Howard, rugby league was sold down the river to a media company and will never recover.

There should be a hall of fame - but call it what it is: the News Limited product shelf for the better flogging of PayTV in Australia.

Onya Locky!!! Howard made a mistake promising to keep Interest rates down...he couldnt keep that as rates were out of his control and due to world economic status anyway. The same for Krudd. How can he promise cheaper housing? he cant control the market. he doesnt control teh rates either.

What dumbasses to believe Krudd!!!

pretty much spot on. Everyone fell for Rudd's rubbish and we are all paying for it. Unless you like AFL, Rudd has royally stuffed all sports!:x

and to hell with those who cant afford it, right?

But I mean, John Howard, 3 million bucks for a fishing hall of fame.

He'd also deny people of a same sex persuasion every right possible if he had half the chance, but hey, dont let that stop you from wanking over him.

You do realise that medicare still pays for 75% of your private health bills? If you had to pay for all your health care yourself like your great plan no hospital could afford to operate. It's our tax dollars that prop up the private system.

We pay the higher taxes, we deserve some benefit. The privat health system is vey good, and most people can afford to pay for it. It is called BUDGETING. If you cut out some expenses you can afford it!

Perhaps if you want to educate the masses, you should start with some spelling and grammer lessons for yourself.

2 observations i have.

1. If this had been the coalition withdrawing funding this thread would be 3 times as long with people blowing up deluxe.

2. In a civilised and democratic society like ours it is up to the government to fund all sectors of society , not just health and education. Its what sets us apart from socialism.

rugby league is to some people what Opera is to others. And to withdraw funding in the centenary year is a low act.
