i know your admin..but SHUT THE F*** UP!! Canberra is one of the great planned cities in the world, as is Washington and Paris so what would you know!

Paris was founded towards the end of the 3rd century BC on what is now the Île de la Cité by a tribe of Celtic Gauls known as the Parisii. Centuries of conflict between the Gauls and Romans ended in 52 BC, when Julius Caesar's legions took control of the territory. Christianity was introduced in the 2nd century AD, and the Roman party was finally crashed in the 5th century by the arrival of the Franks. In 508 AD, Frankish king Clovis I united Gaul as a kingdom and made Paris his capital, naming it after the original Parisii tribe

Doesn't sound real "planned" to me...

It's a footy forum here mate. Not a history lesson.

WOO!! HOO!! Licence to make stuff up!!

Cheers,
Ben S.

I know sometimes we say things just to stir up opposing supporters and I have done so myself. But this is not one of those occasions.

I have visited Canberra over 50 times and imo, it is one of the most soul-less and pitiful places on the planet. Canberra has no access to the ocean, no spirit, no real history... and to make matters worse, the place is full of politicians.

At best, Canberra represents the hub of trivial bureucracy. At worst, it is an experiment in social engineering which went horribly wrong.

Kogarah on the other hand has a valued and real sporting history. You can smell the sea air and you can feel atmosphere.

Jubilee Oval may be an imperfect bowl which needs lights and more 'mod cons', but it has a spirit which glistens over Botany Bay and beyond; and on that point, I wouldn't have it any other way.

You don't like Canberra but have been here over 50 times? Anyway I have lived here for over 15 years and never met or seen a politicians and worked in many jobs where you would normally come across them. You are just a media brat where whatever decisions are made at the top the media says "Canberra, has decided this". I would've thought you'd see through that tripe, but whatever you like.

Now, I'd love to live in Sydney. 3 hours to get anywhere. Crap Roads. Beaches full of shite. Out of control crime. Overcrowded. More expensive. Workers earn less on average than the A.C.T. You've picked a winner. Kogarah confirms how crap the place is. Wollongong beats it...

The truth behind everything is that you guys have worked the topic in this direction because you don't want to talk footy. Especially that goof Denis. Why he's taken 2 minutes out of his day to leave the four corners and talk in a sport related thread is beyond me. You know you're rubbish and Sunday will prove it. Meanwhile, enjoy the smoke, I mean seabreeze and rest your hopes on jokers like Riddell and Thompson. If you want to talk footy I am always happy to join in. If you want to get personal and start rubbish about Cities go and join Freaky Denis in FC.

You doubt me? None of your business but I went there regularly for work. I think you've already been told to think outside the square.

In some countries, you'd get a medal for that.

So what? Are you saying that because you cant see them they don't exist? Or are they avoiding you?

Man, when a politician starts avoiding you, I think its time cash in your chips.

Ahh, personal insults. I didnt think you'd lose it so easily.

Excuse me wudger, but I think you'll find your mates were more than happy to get into the banter as well and I do recall some disparaging comments about Kogarah before I reciprocated. Are you sure you're not from Paris as well?

Just in case I miss you talking footy, be sure to let us know.

If Kogarah is so good, why are you living on the Gold Coast? Maybe because it's a polluted, concrete sh*thole. Your footy oval is symbolic of the area. It must be exciting when you ome to Bruce to actually have seats to sit on.

LOL.. another little personal dig.
Not that it matters but I've lived in Sydney all my life and now fly down to every Kogarah game. Where I live now is of no concern to you junior; so stop embarassing yourself.

I can't speak for the whole of the Dragon Army but I personally find standing a far better way to watch football.

Canberra Stadium is soulless...

Who's embarassing themselves? Not us. I just read your reply to me and you tried to be clever with little 2 liners because you had nothing else and it was Woeful. Pitiful in fact. You missed the point about the whole media thing along with some other points I made. An embarassment to the administration.

Soulless. Have you seen Canberra Stadium recently? It's one of the best grounds in the country to watch any sporting event and the crowd is now closer and more vocal. Soulless? I would love to be there this Sunday to watch the game standing behind a telegraph pole for hours and to hear that deathly silence when the green men take the points.

I love it - of all the places to stand on the hill at Kogarah, you chose to stand behind a pole. There's about 4 poles on the entire hill, anyway, & each is about 9 inches wide. Compare that to the width of the hill - now wake up to yourself!!...

Kogarah is a venue in the old style, they way they used to & still should be. It's all about the football.

Cheers,
Ben S.

What media administration?
You're right on one thing... I don't believe you're making any sense at all.

Oh god. How can you claim i'm making no sense? I said you missed the whole point I made about the media.

new sentance.

Next to your name it says you are an administrator. Meaning you are part of the set up of this site. To which I said you were an embarassment.

off in the willows......

Oh I'm terrified now 8-[ ... I own the place so that automatically means that I dont have an opinion anymore. You're dumber than I first thought.
Kicking the admin can is merely indication that you are can't handle what forums are all about.

On a formal note, you represent a minority of idiots who take themselves way too seriously.
Rule of thumb: we're members first, managers second. Sorry to disappoint you kid, but I'll forget all about you by tomorrow.

On a less formal note, are you sure you're not from Paris? :-s

As for Sunday; win lose or draw, Canberra will still be a city without soul.

Peoples... does this really matter?

Do Canberrans care about what people from St. George say about their city? No.

Do St. George-ans care about what people from Canberra say about their town? No.

We're just arguing for the sake of arguing!

I actually like the Dragons team, and wish them well this season... but too bad you're going down on Sunday. ;-)

BRING ON THE FOOTY, DAMNIT!

Thats the spirit RaiderMan. Except for the first part... it sounds like a few of the Canberrans are mortally offended. ;-)

For the record, Saints by 14.

Extremely one-eyed of you to think St George fans haven't reacted in kind.

Whatever, it's not important. What's important is the footy, and it should be an absolute cracker. Firman vs McLinden. Bailey and Long vs Davico and O'Hara. Thompson vs Wiki. Some excellent clashes and I for one sure as hell don't want to miss a minute of it. Bring on round 1!

For the record, Raiders by 12.

Extremely one eyed? Surely not.
I merely point out the virtues of Kogarah and not so virtuous attributes of Canberra... here in our Saints forum.
But bugger that...
Thanks for saying "St George" - well done champ. :D
