Played the drums at school in my yoof before taking up the gitfiddle later in loif. Stuey was the biz and technically gifted as is the likes of Steve Gadd or Neil Peart from Rush. But none can touch the great Bonzo for feel. That fella create grooves that the pros still cant lick.

f**k a duck. That's some pocket alright. Before the beat then on the beat and then deep when he wants to all at once. Jezuz. Got me fugged how Jones locked into that. He's some player as well. Never replicate that 4some.

Massive pocket in that one. Jeff Pocaro also said that it influenced his groove on "Rosanna", which is a classic groove as well.

Those tunes sound uber cool. The songs are cracker jack. Hang together like a charm. Did you do all the percussion beds? Real smooth. Just one thing though. The lass's voice is beautiful but it sounds like there some auto tune or processing going on. Maybe a bit of I think they call it brazing when you add some crunch to the vocals instead of doing sloppy doubles. Love it though.

Glad you like it. I wasn't there for the vocals or mixing, so not really sure what went on there. I can vouch for her voice though, and I doubt there's any auto tune. Probably some other stuff.

I only played drums on it. Actually it was a pretty weird session. I went in on my own and recorded to a click track, guide vocals and keys. Learnt the song and recorded in a few takes. Bass player came in on another session to do his bit. Then percussionist and horns etc later. Doing the same sort of thing for another artist, who's using Kat to sing. We've done 3 tracks so far with another 3 or so to go. Done exactly the same way.

It's awesome to be recording again though. I forgot how much fun it is.

Shouted myself a solo EP this year. Ended up spending a week recording at the ANU studio. The engineer played bass and keys and the master eng did the percussion beds. I did the rest. It is the bestest fun ever. Love watching it all emerge. Cant get enough of that stuff.

Yep, love it! My main band, The Smart Folk, just pretty much finished recording our Mini-LP. Love the process and just hanging out at the studio. It won't be out until next year though.

We had some great performers this year but that try in such a crucial time against the odds, when 80,000 fans had their heads down, was simply sensational.
