You've already been pulled up on that one, but to satisfy your need for closeness, here's something extra to chew on:

It was a 2 point game until the 73rd minute, and even after Manly's last try the Eels were pulled down a metre short after a break. A try then would have again made it a 2 point game in the last 5 min.

Nrlstats lists the game as 46-22 to the eels.

I don't know what you guys are on about...

Marshall..

I'm sorry if the Surgery i performed on you isn't to your liking.. but you did get the blonde hair you were asking for :)

I ask you a question in relation to your finals gripe...

What the Hell does David Gallop have to do with the quality of the Finals series??? I haven't seen him drop any ball or miss any tackles..

Mate, that's a first-week finals match from two years ago.

The game being referred to is our most recent meeting with Manly, back in round 20.

The suggestion is that the gulf in class is not that insurmountable. Hopefully we get the chance to demonstrate that over the next two weeks.

Rleague and every other NRL stats site I know lists the game as 46-22....

A quick google brought up a number of news articles listing the score as 46-22

e.g:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2005/09/11/1457835.htm

For some reason the NRL video gallery isnt loading at my work, so feel free to check there and let me know what the score is at the end of the game.

Would certainly be interesting if the game was recorded wrong in all the history books :sarcasm:

This is a thread discussing finals series games and their lack of quality, what place does a regular season game have in that argument??

The fact that there has been good quality games throughout the 25 rounds prior to this finals series, or the 26 rounds preceding the last few years finals series as well, has zero to do with the boring, one-sided affairs we are regularly subjected to come finals time.

Yeah that Parra v Manly game a few weeks back was a shocker

And you started going on about some finals game two years ago.

The point being made, counter to your own, was that other grand final combinations available to us this year with these four remaining teams have just as much appeal and as much potential to be exciting and memorable as a Storm v Manly game.

Keep up.

Nick, you accidentally said two weeks instead of two years in post 64.

Don't rely on Google for your match reports Danish, use www.nrlstats.com

gallop is the reason for the decline of the game - wanting to stick to the macintrye system which was dumped correctly by the afl for the 1 v 4 / 2 v 3 / 5 v 8 6 v 7 system - the best system for an 8 team 4 week finals series - although it should be 5 weeks. Gallop brought in the golden point - another blunder as all you get is a field goalathon in this period.

He as a lacky for news ltd continues to protect financially struggling clubs and promote out of sydney teams and areas as the future of the game to the detriment of sydney clubs and supporters

he has to go for the sake of the game

the 2 games will resemble a limited over cricket match between say australia and holland- both storm and manly will win by cricket scores.

hmmm, the games this series have been one sided and boring apart from the dogs cows game.

I was let down by souths I really thought they were gonna do better, same with the warriors and dogs.

This week it should get better, we can only hope for a parra manly GF that would be awseome

You can bet your house on the fact that Parra will not go down by more than 10.
