Finals Week 2: Sharks vs Panthers

He's on radio and TV every week. I think you've just missed the good he would've said over that time because it's not posted on here.
Or maybe Fox (where this appeared) doesn't consider it newsworthy. But the fact remains, he's bagging out people when we've been eliminated two years running without giving them credit for getting the side as far as it got. He could have done that in this article but chose not to. Thus his opinions are completely unhelpful and one-sided at the time they come, maybe he's just another fan mourning the season. But he fails to acknowledge that without Maloney we would not have even made the finals.

There is no obligation from anyone to balance their comments so it pleases everyone. The only thing that matters is whether or not it's factual which it definitely was.

He didn't mention the rest of the season at all. He spoke about an experienced big game player in a big game qho was captain no less.

So your issue is not that he bagged a player out. But that he didnt bag more out?

Honestly of all the poor performances his was the worst. Leota, Tamou and Mez making f**k all metres isnt unexpected. Jimmy being that bad in a big match is. I think wr all expect big things from Jimmy. Who expects it from Tamou, Mez or Leota? A decdng game from them isjust a pleasant surprise.

Honestly the list of players who played well is extremely short. But Jimmy was involved in most of the big negative plays against us.

He had 2 poor reads which cost us tries. Have away a penalty that cost us 2 points. Dropped an easy pass off a break to kill momentum. In a game we went on to lose by a field goal.

If Maloney doesn't play we still don't win.. So bag the team performance out once again our pack got monstered but as team we were poor

Everybody is bagging Maloney for the cannonball penalty, but if you look at it he initially hit above the knee which is legal.
Peachey's 'high tackle' never touched the players head or neck, he grabbed his shoulder.
Whilst not competely to blame, Klein seemed to view 75% of the game through blue eyes. He seemed to see every knock on, forward pass etc by Penrith, but seemed to miss the same by Cronulla, especially their first try. The Fox commentators called some which weren't picked up.
We were off the pace early, but showed what was possible in the second half.
Roll on 2019!
ps Sign Ciraldo now, and Cleary will follow!

Well Gus was right, where never going to win.

Wrote the season off 4 weeks out, proven correct.

Ehh not me.

Leota was alright.

Tamou getting alot of applause on here, but I was unhappy with his first half. Only marginally quicker than Merrin getting back onside.

Merrin, lets not speak about him again.

RCG. We know he is quality, but he has been a shadow of his former self since returning from injury.

McKendry on one leg would have offered more.

Our backrow aside no one can be proud of their performance that game.

So why call out one player. It just makes no sense too me

FFS, he was captain of a TEAM. You might want to take stock and realise that League is a team sport with 13 players and 4 reserves. Maloney had a bad game, yes, but he didn't make Katoa play so stupidly that the coach hooked him in the first half. He also was not responsible for Peachey's high shot that gave another penalty away. And guess what,he is a half back that has poor defense, he is also carrying an injury. He was also targetted by a LOT of traffic. WTF were the other defenders around him doing? Oh that's right, he is responsible for every mistake of the whole team because he is a test player and has experience and he is the captain. FFS.

I'm guessing you've only seen a few comments? Ive already said all that as my personal opinion. Glad we agree. This conversation is about Girdler and his right to criticise Maloney. Everyone has said he had a bad game so Girds was correct. That's the only metric that matters here.

That's impossible to know for sure. But if you look at what he cost us... odds on we win without him.

What we do know is he ran out of the line for Fifita to setup Chad Townsend for a try. To put a hit on Moylan who was never getting the ball

He missed the tackle on Luke Lewis for him to score a try. Looked no better thrn the efforts Carty is bagged for.

He gave away the dumbest f**king cannonball tackle penalty of the season. It doesn't get more blatant then that.

He dropped the ball cold when Kikau got us a break and some momentum. Although this error on its own wouldn't be so bad.

He was f**king terrible for us. He contributed to 3 scoring plays for Sharks in a game we lost by 1 point. He didn't contribute anything to us.

Yet you claim we would have still lost without him? That's a pretty huge stretch... he's the one player on the field you could replace and be nearly certain his replacement couldn't cost us as much even if he didn't offer anything extra.

He came in late at the legs. Its a blatant penalty everday of the week.

It's dangerous and stupid.
Not charged. It was unnecessary and dumb though. But, as has been said already, its a pity Klein didn't police the markers in the latter stages with the same zeal he policed this and the marginal high tackles.

Firstly why are you on the Panthers forum? Secondly, I would love to see how Flannagan would go coaching a side with the lack of experience the Panthers have.
