Hayne usually gives us a fair go... I'm just worried about our defence, it was great last week, but I think Melbourne's attack is a different prospect

Interesting thread.

You guys must thrash them. you guys will thrash them, you will here me cheering from Bathurst.

As far as the incident goes:
Lets try to look at it objectively.

The Broncos club obviously has a policy of "have a good weekend, see you on Monday" if they play on Friday.
The club does not have a policy of no booze.
Three guys go to a club/bar and have a few drinks.
So far not a problem, no rules broken.
The three guys get involved with a young lady who offers them oral sex and then in the bathroom it is agreed that two of them have full sex with the lady.
Again so far no problems. This certainly wouldn't happen to me. I am 62, tubby, wear glasses and am not the greatest looking dude around. But when I was 20, perhaps it may have been a different story. How many guys on here, at that age, would have been at least tempted. What the hell if your a real estate agent, computer geek, a garbo or a high profile rugby league player. Remember the old saying, "a stiff prick has no conscience" I believe too much emphasis is placed on these blokes being "role models". But getting back to the issue.
So far these guys have done nothing wrong, certainly not in the eyes of the law or for that matter in the eyes of the club, their team mates and the general public.
The 3rd guy now starts taking a video with his mobile, and the girl objects.
What happens from this point is pretty crucial.
Did she just object and then in the heat of the moment allow things to carry on. Remember, the group is in the bathroom of a club, where a scream would most certainly have brought in the bouncers or other staff.
Did they stop filming and carry on.
Did they just abort the whole show and leave.
Did they carry on despite her soft and feeble protests.

This we do not know at the present time and until we do know, I believe it is very unfair to suggest the three players be suspended.

Surely Bennett and the club know best and if they are training and intend playing, then so be it. Lets wait until all the facts are out before crucifying these blokes.

Just my thoughts.

If we're to win this game, it'll be Lockyer that does it. He is the difference between the 2 sides, his big game experience can get us over the line

You'd hope so but does the club have two doors into the loos helping to deaden any sound from inside? Was the music dooff dooffing outside and if so how loud? How crowded & noisy? Was there a bouncer by the door?
Its easy to see how any screams could go unheard.

:
Did they carry on despite her soft and feeble protests.
So you know that they were soft feeble protests do you? Couldn't possibly be trying to justify their alleged actions by speculating like the media

Round 10 - sitting in the stands
Finals time - what assault?
Just my thoughts.

And Hoffman will be running at Lockyer on one dickey knee ... not that I rate Hoffman that highly.

Hunt is just the type of personality to put in a blinder this weekend. I'll be looking at the number of grapples in the first 10-15 minutes put on by the Storm. They got away with murder last week.

That could be the difference just there ...

Hi Dannyboy,

No my friend, not in any way. Perhaps that was badly put by me. What I was trying to say, perhaps her protests were too soft to be heard. If she did indeed protest, then the matter takes on a far more serious note.

I knew I shouldn't have posted, but it seemed the greater proportion of posts were condeming the 3 players, when all the facts aren't known. It just seems to me, that innocent until proven guilty should be the case here as everywhere.

Please don't think for one moment that I support the media. They usually get it wrong and their speculation causes untold misery to many people.

As far as speculating, no I'm certainly not, I simply put forward a number of scenarious any one of which could be correct, or indeed there may well be another. I have no idea.

All I am saying is, let justice take its normal path.

No charges dropped yet, it was a false alarm (the charges against Bird were actually dropped).

Looks like a little rain on the cards for tomorrow does anyone else think this will help the broncos? i think they are a better wet weather team than the storm.
