You had the same measures on Mary and Hook, yes?
No not exactly because I had a few different measures for and issues with them.
Mc Fookknuckle was a disaster from so many different angles and I was always convinced he would fail regardless so why have too measures especially when he was the darling of the board.
His performance as a coach was only surpassed by his ridiculous selections. I was critical of him and calling for him to be gone early on. His extensions clearly demonstrated the club couldn’t care less.
I had much higher hopes for Hook and misguidedly thought he could work his way through it. Again his extension proved that the BOD were clueless however it is fair to say that he was probably closer to achieving something especially compared to Chinless & McFookknuckle than many would give him credit for on the basis he had much closer score lines and not the thrashings we all despise.
Nepotism ultimately his downfall as was his failure to develop younger players. Yes he proved to be a dinosaur.
S F came as a proven premiership winning coach and made some bold predictions / statements and deservedly should be judged to a higher level.
We have put our hand in the monkey trap too many times in recent years so why do it again?
If S F is an honourable man and gets good results then his extension should be a mere formality if he doesn’t improve the side then why would / should we extend him early?
The answer shouldn’t be just because he is better credentialed than the last 3.
He said we wouldn’t get the spoon so that box ticked.
He said we wouldn’t beat ourselves
He said we would compete for the full 80 minutes
He also said a few other things which just elude me for the moment
So more boxes yet to be ticked IMO.
He has strengthened the squad so why wouldn’t we wait to see how that goes because the press had a random article?
