Thought about it a bit have ya?

Sound like contractual KPI’s or white ants inside the club.
That’s crazy talk though.

How much you want to bet we make the 8?

pass mark? Plain and simple.
We won 12 matches this year. Next year, I will be happy with 14. We lost Lomax, who had points in him, but picked up Val, who is also a scorer. We lost Hunt - lots of assists - and DA won't be joining until 2026, but Cook + Liddell is 80 minutes of threat through the middle. The story of KF + Ilias is yet to be told. Sloan scored 13 tries in 23 games which is very nice - and some of those tries were specials - but Gutherson had 9 tries in 23 games with 16 try assists (14th in the league.)

With the new on-field leadership, 14 wins seems possible.

Correct thats why we can not make the same mistakes again
We extended Mary after winning a few games in a row, what a joke that was from the Illawarra side
I don‘t understand why the uproar if we wait to sign Flano.
Why are people on here overreacting to sign him now
If he is good enough he will get the results and he will be resigned. If not then he should be moved on.
Making the 8 should be a shoe in for a coach who now has his squad.
We should expect and aim for top 6 and above
Those wanting Flano signed now obviously have no confidence in the coach to get the required results.
If you did it have the confidence it would only be a formality as to when he signs as the results will be there.
As for him being poached, someone who believes in what he is doing to rebuild the club and has LOYALTY won’t leave and if he does he is not the guy for us.
This is not rocket science it’s just a simple pragmatic approach to prevent our previous mistakes from repeating.
I am sure Flano agrees he needs to get the results to be extended

I generally agree with your sentiment, however I don't think he has the squad he wants. YET. My feeling is, he is building the squad he wants.

Let's see how 25 pans out. A pass mark for me is 7th - 9th, with a decent differential.

Flanno would never admit it, but I would bet that he already has one or two years targetted for his shot at the title and also some idea of which current players could still be in the team when he makes his run.

He understands 'context'
His motivation is Flanno hate, and has been since day 1.

The stench of his hypocrisy can only be removed by use of the ignore function
HOD
if you are ignoring me why do you post regarding my posts
If I hated Flano I would say don’t sign him him again
I am simply saying he gets extended only at the end of the year with results
Thats not hate

How about the factionism and agendas that permeate the old boys on the board seeps into a forum as soon as we start to turn a corner with someone who isn’t “one of us”.

Youse f**ked up by selling out.

And now there’s nothing you can do.

Brave New World.

I understand your point

the only thing is Mary had a decent squad and underperformed

Flanno will need 2025 and 2026 to get the side into the top 4-6.

He has managed to attract some recruits.

I see Flanno as more deserving.

FMD another person who has trouble with comprehension.

How you can possibly deduce I’m defending Hook in anyway with that post is beyond any possible reasoning.

I love your excuses as to why S F needs this, that and the other and what he inherited bla bla bla.

He has more than enough to work with to out perform Hook and in fact did so in 2024 as well.

Any repetitive poor results this year will firmly sit with him and he should be treated accordingly.

Any repetitive good results will also sit with him and he should also be treated accordingly.

No excuses he can either coach or he can’t.
Sorry if you have posted previously, but what is your gripe with Flanno. ???

Obviously I’ve thought about it and think my view of things is fair but you no doubt think otherwise so be it.

With all the pumping up of S F tyres and his recruitment one would think the good scenario is easily in his reach.

Not sure how to interpret your bet offer it seems a bit ambiguous however I neither want to bet we will or we won’t as I have never placed a bet against my team and won’t start doing so now.

If the results fall into the bad scenario I’ll be interested to see what posters have to say and if they finish in the good scenario then a 2 year coach extension would be well within order.
You had the same measures on Mary and Hook, yes?

FMD....You haven't posted one positive thing about Flanno since before he became our coach. Why lie about hating him. It sticks out like dogs balls. Stop treating people like imbeciles. It makes you look dense.

Well I think good coaches make players by improving them
We now have a good all round squad with experience and good youth coming through.
We won’t really have much room for new players as we upgrade the youth in the future
it’s now up to Flano to mould them and get them there
They are good enough if the coach believes in them and they play for the coach
The ground work has been done, the foundations are in and the builder is ready to build the empire
Let’s hope the builder has the ability to handle and navigate through the challenges that will lie ahead and not go bust during the development of this team.

The account clearly represents a vested interest against what is occurring.

They’re just now realising they’re doomed and they’ll kill everything rather than lose power.

A tale as old as time itself.

Deano - whom we all love. And I mean personally adore - is the compromise.

St. George Board has always been untouchable. Bloodlines.

Antics catching up now that the Leagues Club is a non factor in financials?

Pretty sure Lancaster is the deciding vote and Creagh has his ear.

Anyone see Pleasantville around 99-2000?

The Old Timers in the bowling alley?

No not exactly because I had a few different measures for and issues with them.

Mc Fookknuckle was a disaster from so many different angles and I was always convinced he would fail regardless so why have too measures especially when he was the darling of the board.
His performance as a coach was only surpassed by his ridiculous selections. I was critical of him and calling for him to be gone early on. His extensions clearly demonstrated the club couldn’t care less.

I had much higher hopes for Hook and misguidedly thought he could work his way through it. Again his extension proved that the BOD were clueless however it is fair to say that he was probably closer to achieving something especially compared to Chinless & McFookknuckle than many would give him credit for on the basis he had much closer score lines and not the thrashings we all despise.

Nepotism ultimately his downfall as was his failure to develop younger players. Yes he proved to be a dinosaur.

S F came as a proven premiership winning coach and made some bold predictions / statements and deservedly should be judged to a higher level.

We have put our hand in the monkey trap too many times in recent years so why do it again?

If S F is an honourable man and gets good results then his extension should be a mere formality if he doesn’t improve the side then why would / should we extend him early?

The answer shouldn’t be just because he is better credentialed than the last 3.

He said we wouldn’t get the spoon so that box ticked.

He said we wouldn’t beat ourselves

He said we would compete for the full 80 minutes

He also said a few other things which just elude me for the moment

So more boxes yet to be ticked IMO.

He has strengthened the squad so why wouldn’t we wait to see how that goes because the press had a random article?

I hated the peptide issue and his wilful breach of the ban he was hit with so pissed off that the board signed him.

In regards to how he coached Cronulla I was never a fan of their style of play and thought circumstances also helped them over the line not just coaching.

I have somewhat begrudgingly let go of the bone as life is to short especially for some so am now willing to judge him purely on results.

Note Edit:

Ahhhh.

The verbose, desperate rantings of the deposed.

I didn’t read any of it.

Whatever.
