Footy Club AGM?

Fair enough Mark... I guess no-one knows there's been an actual change unless we're notified.

And I understand Jodeci and support the membership re-configuration and drive, just saying that all that would be a shame even if say 5 people are lost to the club through getting everyone on the same page, and those people may not hear about it out until 3 weeks before their AGM. Could have been handled better, if I dare say so (assuming we're safely past any Emporer's New Clothes period and can return to the usual airing opinions about the pros and cons in the running of our club).

That's fair enough

The club must obviously be banking on the idea that say we had 1,000 football club members.

60% are Season Ticketed Members - Retained

Out of the 40% left (400 people) only 20% decide to take up the $70 Blue Blood Supporters Pack, that's an extra $45 per person x 200 people = $9,000

Compared to the other 20% who decide unfortunately they cant commit to the $70 because of money, etc. The club will forfeit 200 x $25 = $5,000.

The club is still $4,000 up

This is just an example people so dont go all jumping to conclusions

I think what we are seeing here is the "re-birthing" of the membership system.
There will certainly be mistakes made by the club along the way and lessons to be learned. I certainly expect that the club will attend to these issues and fine tune certain aspects along the way.
Remember, it will be impossible to keep EVERYONE happy in the long run.

I think its fair enough if they want to change it and integrate it all - but IF someone who is an existing $25 FC member and doesn't want the extra pile of plastic cheapies that come with the blue blood thing, then they should be allowed to stay as only a $25 FC member - ONLY existing people who want to (and most will likely switch anyway) - any newbies need to do the $70 thing

I'd imagine there might be some oldies who just want to keep supporting the FC but don't really want a fridge magnet and near sighted plastic binoculars

The argument people will have is that why should the newbies have to pay up $70 when the existing members pay $25

It will get to messy

People will start arguing that my brother pays $25 and you want me to pay $70, etc

As mentioned in the other threads, the club wants to only have a few memberships and not a 1,000 different types of memberships perhaps

I am one of those selected few that could potentially fall through the cracks. I, however, have no dramas re: spending the extra cash. I will give the tatts and stickers to the local kids down the street.
Having spoken to some colleagues, however, I can confirm that when their families are included there will be atleast 6 people in my office that will not be renewing their membership. It is sad, but I guess that this is the direction the club needs to head in. :? 2 of them would be eligible to vote next year also. :(

As I said mate, there will obviously need to be some fine tuning.
This is the biggest, most drastic overhaul in club memberships in living memory.
I'm prepared to cut them some slack for their first attempt. We'll see what happens after their second attempt, remembering full well that an election will be due soon after.
And, as I said, it's will always be impossible to keep everyone happy.

I am interested in what people think the $25 members should get in comparison to the $70 members.

The Year book, Financial report and Key ring are a given (I wonder if the FC will distribute the Concise report in 2010?).

Do those members get the ability to purchase tickets for big events like other members do?

Obviously they should not get any of the other (except Keyring) Merchandise but should they get the Newsletters / Emails, maybe that depends on the pre-purchase tickets answer.

But again Jodeci is right, should they not then pass that sort of an offer on to STH's who have not had to pay extra for a blue blood pack? The Forms and details would be astronomical.

Another thing that will make the $25 option more difficult is that all membership numbers will be generated by the NRL's CRM system, so we all will have different membership numbers this year compared to last year (as in I will no longer be member 1442).

Yeah 've already expressed my vote of unhappiness regarding the new Footy club structure. I would encourage others to do the same.
For those that do take it up because they feel they have to to stay a member, surely you have kiddies or someone else to share the love around.... or else I wold like to introduce you to the world of ebay selling lol.

If you DON'T speak then you cannot be heard.

Is there any other information that goes along with the Notification?

I was at the FC office today, and noted with interest the Forms and Brochures for membership on the Front Desk are for the Blue and Gold Army.

Yes. There is an information sheet explaining what is happening to Football Club members and an application form for every type of membership available.

Does the form clearly outline that your $25 membership will cease on a particular day and if you want it to continue, you will need to join one of the following memberships?

does it mention if you are an existing ticketed member, your FC Membership will automatically roll over? etc

just give em the equivalent of what they already get ... as I said only existing ones who deadset don't want to change over to the new plastic crap pack .... there wouldn't be many to maintain as a separate thing - most will probably pass away in time

Information sheet states cut-off date. That was the 1st of October.
Any new renewals since that date will need to be upgraded.

Not sure what you mean by ticketed member.

That is the new language for Season Ticket Holder, used in the NRL's membership campaign.

Ticketed member = STH

Non-Ticketed Member = B&G army

If that's the case, I'm still confused what he means. FC membership was never a part of a season ticket, so there is nothing to roll over.

I think they should get that and only that, plus their membership. At least it gives them the option of being a member with basic voting rights!

No buying window etc etc, that should be only available to Blue Blood and STH's.

But FC membership is now part of the Season Ticket.

If an FC member, like myself say, has purchased a Ticketed membership (or in my case renewed my Season ticket into a Ticked membership) does it mention that my FC membership is part of that and my tenure and voting rights will continue via that ticketed membership?

Suity, as MITS mentioned

If you are a Current Football Club Member, does it say on the form anywhere that your Football Club membership will now be transfered to your Season Ticket Membership?
