I'm not saying don't raise it, but from the sounds of it you have not even tried to find yourself an answer.
Express your annoyance and perhaps you'll get a fairly decent answer..... if you don't try then well....???@@@%%%

to be brutally honest, I'm not that annoyed by it at all, I only really brought it up because of the thread.

I probably should of just called them..

Thing is, I guess if people are busy, emails can get lost....you know, 'I'll reply to that later', things come up and two days after the email they've forgotten.

Is this really such a big deal?
For the first time in EONS there will be an AGM where there should be very little blood-letting , bitching and general disillusionment, and an AWFUL lot of pats-on-the back for the likes of Ozzie , DA and all the boys in the NRL side. Not to mention the most positive outlook for a season ahead since god knows how long ago!
Jeez , some people are hard to please.
BTW ,I am a member and have been one since 1984.

Hello Friends,

To answer Nikki's question to the best of my ability, yes we will be having an AGM this year.

But in the other regards you are mistaken. We are required to receive notification of the AGM 21 days out from the AGM. That is the legal requirement. Now I normally thought the AGM was the First Sunday in the Month, but I might be mistaken and think it to be the 2nd Sunday in the month, in that case we are looking at the 13th of December, and currently we are more than a month away from that.

I would expect, that by the 20th of November we as members would receive word from the club about these issues. If we do not then indeed the issue should be raised with the club and if no positive result given with a member of the board if you can contact one. But I would also note, that our club constitution states, that it is in compliance with the Act, and is required to hold its AGM no less than 6 months from the End of the clubs financial year. The previous Concise reports and other information I have obtained over the years points to the fact that the end of the Clubs financial year is the 31st of October. As such, less than a fortnight ago.

It is possible the clubs accountants are still going through the financial data to produce the report.

At the moment on this issue I would advise patience.

Wow you need a blue blood membership to remain a member of the footy club???

What a crock of sh*t. So old Jack who may be too old/sick to attend games but still may want to vote needs to out lay $70 to keep his membership?

I'm sure he'll love the tattoo sheet and bumper sticker though....

Surely there is a way for someone to continue their annual $15, sorry $25 membership of the Football club, without it being tied to a $70 package including merchandise, or a $xxx package containin season tickets?

I'm all behind the club's increased push and profile of memberships, but surely there's room for a non-ticketed, non-merchandised club membership in there too... perhaps that's what is being decided prior to the letter advising of FC AGM/renewals?

In my conversations with the club over this issue, the answer is no, the only way to be a Football Club member is to purchase a Blue Blood Package.

From my own opinion, I believe the club might have done its research here and figured a vast majority of those who are FC members currently are already members of the B&G army as well or indeed are already Season Ticket Holders.

yeah, I think there'd probably only be a small number that may fall through the gap there Mark.

I agree the vast majority would be catered for by the new arrangements, and that overall it's a good move.

But imo it's a shame that if there are some people - even just a few - who are too old for wearing tattoos etc, but simply want to maintain a basic financial link/support for their favourite club are now not able to do so.

On a side note, I guess Hellsy's football club membership thread will now become defunct if there is no traditional path to FC membership itself, other than through our STs or the $70 packs that are promoted on the Eels website.

This was my query when the first lot of info came out.

In the end i didn't send off my membership form from Hellsy as it seems that it is now obsolete. Now i have to fork out $70 for merch that i don't really need to be a member which is all i'm after.

I'm not all that cranky but i do think it is a bit cheeky.

tbh it would of made good pr sense to offer the same deal to existing members only for 1 more year as good faith gesture to their loyalty.

I think it will be interesting to see how many will fall through the cracks. Bart, as per the Join the FC thread. Yeah I agree and I posted as such in it, Hellsy is going to continue to post out forms at this point in time until it is confirmed (in writing) from the club, via the expected Letter from the CEO.

The Club would of done the research as mentioned by finding out how many Footy Club Members are Season Ticketed Members or BGA Members and thought we need to get everyone on the same page and minimise all the different types of memberships we have plus they may of realised that other clubs have done the same and perhaps what do other clubs charge in joining the Football Club for their respective team

Fair enough Mark... I guess no-one knows there's been an actual change unless we're notified.

And I understand Jodeci and support the membership re-configuration and drive, just saying that all that would be a shame even if say 5 people are lost to the club through getting everyone on the same page, and those people may not hear about it out until 3 weeks before their AGM. Could have been handled better, if I dare say so (assuming we're safely past any Emporer's New Clothes period and can return to the usual airing opinions about the pros and cons in the running of our club).
