got my letter today and explains things a little clearer, think I'll just get the Blue blood package, the kids can have the tattoos etc.
I can't afford to pay $75 to be a football club member. Just opened the letter and chucked it in the bin along with my old badge.
I can understand why they've done it, but geeze the FC members should have been first to be told about any changes to membership structures.
While it makes people feel like they are part of the club and have some control over the way things are run by voting being a FC member does not really help support the club financially.
The club needs bums on seat at home games and need to concentrate their recruitment to achieve this goal. Fans should go to as many home games as they can to help contribute to the financial status of the club.
whilst that's true and alot of us a taken back by the way they've alienated the basic $25 membership deal, atleast they're out there promoting their membership packages on line, infact whilst there's room for improvement this regime have done more promote the footy club than what the previous regime have done in many years.
I still believe they've dropped the ball by not offering the basic $25 package.
Nah, I dont think thats where the ball was dropped, there were always going to be some people who dont feel they were catered for when the memberships were overhauled, I think the ball was dropped in terms on conveying the information to FC members.
They should have been told prior to membership packages going out IMO.
Having said that, the new packages are great and we'll have a much broader membershipo base, and it's a good thing.
My golf club has a clause in the constitution which states that the maximum increase in memebership fees allowable in a year is 10%. It also states that the basic membership structures cannot change without a member vote, I believe.
Perhaps the footy club constitution states something similar. MITS....Stagger....anyone....?
not sure mate..but the increase from 07 to 08 was from $15 to $25 and that's definitely more than 10% if my weak as piss knowledge of maths is correct...
From my memory of the constitution, I do not believe their is a limit to the increase of membership dues, be it a percentage or any other limit.
I to am a member of a club where he annual subscription fee is part of the constitution and changes to that fee must comply with written laws in that constitution.
