Four year deal for Boyd at knights

I'm still waiting on 100% confirmation, but if it is true, I'll be a lot more excited than what I was when Snowden signed a few days ago ...

Why?

I understand Boyd is a gamebreaker & how good a player he is... but without a decent forward pack he'd be next to useless to a team like ours who's spine is literally the least of their problems..

Boyd would not be useless in any team, even behind our worse forward pack. His kick returns and second receiver plays are second only to Slater. They are not skills dependant on a great forward pack. Our spine is not so great as to determine Boyd excess.

So if you've got a shit pack better to have McDonnell than Boyd because a fullback is shit unless it's a good pack? It just ain't true.

We have not had a class fullback since O'Davis and it's something we've sorely missed. Boyd will do more for our pack then Snowden will. Think about that.

I was watching Woolnough tear it up for the Storm. I suppose Bennet will do something similar with whatever pack he inherits.

Yeah, he'll definitely change Kaufausi from a 25m a game prop to a 40 per game one......yay.

Kinda don't care about Boyd anymore. Yes he's a fantastic player, but I keep getting the impression that he really doesn't want to come here (as apposed to Snowy who seemed desperate to get back here). I really don't want him to sign here reluctantly. I'd rather keep De Gois who seems to love the club.

1. Gidley
6. Henry
7. Mullen
9. De Gois

14. Bedsy

That's still a very good spine imo.

Tend to agree, however getting Boyd and letting go of De Gois would probably be better if Boyd actually wants to come to the Knights.

I admit the 'next to useless' was me over-exaggerating, but I stand by the original sentiments.

So if you've got a shit pack better to have McDonnell than Boyd because a fullback is shit unless it's a good pack? It just ain't true.

Not really what I was trying to say. I am talking in the sense of priorities. I just think that, in our current 'spine' position (Gidley at fullback), Boyd is lesser a priority than forwards who aren't severely lacking.

I completely understand Gidley's faults and am even a harsh critic of him myself, however I'd hate to think the improvement of having Boyd at fullback opposed to Gidley at fullback is worth missing out on another quality forward.

Further, I would argue that if we had Boyd at fullback and Gidley at hooker rather than DeGois, our pack will be worse off.

Next to useless?

Pffffft....he's leading his generation.

Yeah, obviously I'm not the only one who's over-exaggerating... but I forgive you since I started it in the opposite direction.

Well yeah... thats why a lot of people were saying whats the point of signing Boyd. Buying two first string fullback specialists doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and takes money from other positions.

The only reason he's coming here is because the umbilical cord is still attached to Wayne. Must cause havoc on game day.

So is the beggar coming or not?

Get your SHIT HAPPENING Daaaaaariiuussss

That's about 30984 times better imo.

Take it as read. Darius Boyd at Knights next year. And one of the favourite sons, Danny Buderus, to return home

I wonder who was in that 3% that didn't vote yes for Tinks... They probably glad that they were the minority huh!

Doesn't matter if we're signing top players and the best coach in history, we're not a community club anymore. It's way more important to be community owned than successful and financially viable

But we are now owned by the Hunter Sport Group, isn't that community enough?
