Hope soOne day a week they’ll train at Kogarah.
They had a 7-5 Wollongong-Kogarah split this year but Kogarah was a training base for WWC so that might have been why.
they are building a 50 million coe at uni of Wollongong

*3 Tenants. Moana Pasifika Super Rugby plays out of Mt Smart too. But unless they (and the A League side) actually start pulling decent crowds it’s unlikely to Add much impetus for upgrades, it’ll mainly be the Warriors crowds doing that. Mt Smart is fine for teams that pull sub-15K crowds, the main grandstands will pretty much comfortably accomodate them .A soccer journo on Twitter is saying Auckland will get an a league side
if true then upgrades to my smart would be on the card with 2 tenants
If that is the case no team should play at home. Why should the teams blessed with government funded stadiums get home ground advantage? In my previous post, I argued for 20k minimum, but 25k is fine as well. There certainly needs to be a blanket rule or criteria in place for a venue to host a finals game.
One Auckland bid states that they will be at Mt Smart for a few years and then shift to Silo Park/Wynyard Quarter, which I think is the Waterfront.A soccer journo on Twitter is saying Auckland will get an a league side

Silo Park.. interesting. Because THAT would actually be a pretty amazing spot for a new stadium and it’s currently a brownfield site, being where the old fuel terminal used to be. I had no idea it’s being turned into parkland, and if they’re intending to base an A-League side there someone must have plans to develop something there. One Auckland bid states that they will be at Mt Smart for a few years and then shift to Silo Park/Wynyard Quarter, which I think is the Waterfront.
Also by the look of it, the Auckland bid is ahead of Canberra.
V’landys pushing for an upgrade to shark park for some reason, not much could be done to it now to bring it to a respectable level.
I wonder if PVL could ever be convinced to push for a new stadium in Canberra, you know, a place where there isn't a single NRL standard stadium anymore, instead of incessantly making noise about wasting more taxpayer dollars on every little shithole in Sydney...V’landys pushing for an upgrade to shark park for some reason, not much could be done to it now to bring it to a respectable level.
As usual no plan or funds committed, just him lobbying the government saying we deserve it, tribalism, blah blah blah.
Seems to be whining that cronulla missed out on CoE funding while other sydney clubs didn't, but I'm pretty sure the government committed money to the sharks as well just they couldn't put in their share of the money like the other clubs did.
Talk around town is that things have been held up because the multiple investors whom were interested in backing the bid in the past have since moved on to invest in other clubs internationally, and aren't convinced that an A-league side in Canberra is worth the new $25mil asking price. That forced the bid to have to seek different arrangements. One Auckland bid states that they will be at Mt Smart for a few years and then shift to Silo Park/Wynyard Quarter, which I think is the Waterfront.

Surely RU @ Manuka is not a good idea. It is longer and wider than the SCG.Talk around town is that things have been held up because the multiple investors whom were interested in backing the bid in the past have since moved on to invest in other clubs internationally, and aren't convinced that an A-league side in Canberra is worth the new $25mil asking price. The Civic stadium being officially scrapped and replaced with plans to rebuild/upgrade Bruce, and those plans being put even further on the backburner, is supposedly somewhat of sticking point as well. Again it's just talk, so it could be nonsense, but at the same time I can totally believe that there'd be some concerns about the viability of the club if they're based out of Bruce long term.
Playing out of Bruce can shave thousands off attendance, and it's impacting the Brumbies so badly that they're trailing playing a match out of Manuka next year, so it could definitely hurt an A-league side.
There's also speculation that the new men's club taking over Canberra United has caused some issues as well.
Atmosphere at the NRL games I’ve seen there looked bleak on TV.Surely RU @ Manuka is not a good idea. It is longer and wider than the SCG.

These are the sort of decisions that clubs are forced into making when they're desperate and there're no other options.Surely RU @ Manuka is not a good idea. It is longer and wider than the SCG.
It’s a reflection on where super rugby is in Australia nowThese are the sort of decisions that clubs are forced into making when they're desperate and there're no other options.
It's cheaper to rent, it's capacity is more suitable for the Brumbies average crowd, it's in a much better location, across the road from pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. RU also has a storied history of playing games there in the past that they're calling on. It basically fits their needs better in every way except for the fact that it's an oval.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Brumbies aren't around in a decade given how rough they've had it. The crazy thing is that pretty much all their struggles are outside of their control. They're doing pretty much everything right and still failing because the ARU are f**k ups and the ACT gov doesn't care.
I think we’ve only ever played one game there, when the Brumbies had a Super Rugby grand final back when people really cared about Super Rugby.Atmosphere at the NRL games I’ve seen there looked bleak on TV.
Given the ugly side is always going to be the way the cameras point its always going to look a sht box sadly. Dont even now what they could do to get capacity to 25k now?V’Landys picks this to make noise about when the Sharks have done all this to their own stadium? They’ve literally boxed it in with apartments and the LC but now it should be up to the government to fix?
Meanwhile little to nothing about Canberra, Auckland, Newcastle or Wollongong who could all do with some help getting upgrades or new stadiums across the line. Make some noise about those.
