“With the City of Liverpool setting its sights on a prosperous and sustainable future, releasing its long-term Community Strategic Plan, Growing Liverpool 2023, it is believed the two sides will be able to reach a solution, with the Community Strategic Plan outlining a vision for the city, focusing on the promotion of a thriving economy, the creation of a safe, healthy and liveable urban environment, and the development of sustainable infrastructure that protects and enhances the natural environment.

The proposed planning proposal, which is currently under consideration, is seen as a step in the right direction towards achieving these goals”

20k is too small and the up keep makes it not viable, who has the $300m it takes for starters?

Why 20k? Something in the 25-40k range shared by Dogs & Tigers would be perfect. Or 45k of Dogs get their way by all means. Doubt it will happen though.

That is it right there, Dogs are too big for 20k and not sure it is viable to make one bigger. They need to get an A League club onboard or something given that demographic

I've talked about the Tigers & Bulldogs playing out of a joint Liverpool Stadium before. If anybody has read the 3 cities plan you'll understand how Liverpool is going to be essentially built up as the 3rd CBD after Parramatta. Any clubs based at Liverpool will essentially become the clubs that fans in the new Western Parkland city zone will gravitate towards. That's about 1 to 1.5 million people in the next 20 years.

These maps highlight it:

Panthers & Eels will get the majority of the new population in the North West area.

Whoever is based at Liverpool will get the majorityof the South West growth.

I lived in Hammondville in the early 90's as a teen and I always found Liverpool being a weird meeting point of Parra, Doggies and Wests districts when it came to RL. Canterbury owned/own that land near the Whitlam Centre but it always felt like no RL club really took proper ownership over the area.

Thankfully from a Eels supporter point of view it looks like Parramatta will be getting the lions share of the growth in the North West area since they are setting their base and COE right there.

Good to see we have fluked a win in something in 38 years. Having no space in Parramatta has turned out to be a positive for growing our brand beyond our city limits. Good stuff I say. Now if we can get a train line and station built within 500m distance of the COE which is currently in the middle of the boondocks it would do wonders for the whole region too.

Public transport is the key with all these new areas. Without it they remain isolated and mostly undesirable to the wider community.

That is the big issue and what those from Interstate don't realise. Still are huge parts of Sydney with very little public transport.

The light rail should do wonders for that area. Worst case it gets people to a normal train at St Marys
