With Suncorp and the Gabba within walking distance, surely any new stadium will be out in a growing fringe.

Ipswich is the obvious one. Maybe Sunshine coast. If they redo Ballymore, that would be a huge f*cking waste of an opportunity.

Does the Qland Govt have an appetite to spend another $300mill on a stadium?

It was just announced hospitals are getting $9b extra from the federal government. Fitztwit can shut up now.

Hmmmm, I have disagree that with your first bit that they’re within walking distance mate hey. Would be roughly 4.5-5kms? I’d be able to do it but I’d probably hit every pub on the way between and be a mess by the time I got to the second venue....

Now where’s my free hot dog??

Wait until Sydney has it's stadiums built then I think the attitudes may change quickly. A combination of a few factors
  • Suncorp will no longer be the biggest & best rectangular venue in Australia.
  • Suncorp will be the 6th biggest stadium in Australia behind venues in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne (2) & Sydney.
  • Brisbane has no decent mid-sized venue, for rectangular events it is Suncorp or nothing.
It's a wait and see situation bit I wouldn't mind betting they look at building a 25-30k seater then redeveloping Suncorp straight after that if it is possible.

I have ceased clicking on Bandanahead's articles in the Herald. He feels no doubt every click, represents tacit support for his views.
I am just about anti everything he goes on about in his commentary, be it in print or the electronic media. He sh*ts me,his views ditto.
If there is only one thing I like about him, it's that he keeps some publishing company in business.

He's like an annoying blow fly at a BBQ ,that continually aims for your T bone, and leaves everyone else's food alone.

He's your typical pseudo-intellectual chardonnay socialist who is about as in touch with the working class as a cucumber sandwich.

Update on the new Parramatta Stadium.
Click on the pic for a larger version.
The rake on that stand there looks awesome
Hopefully it's ready in time for the start of the 2019 season, or at worst a few weeks in

I'll confidently predict Parramatta will average over 20,000 there next year
