I dont think there is any way to increase Suncorps capacity without completely rebuilding a stand or 2. could be wrong tho.
(Edit: I see you found the other answer on page 72)
I think we'd need to hear from an engineer/architect.
But from what I can gather many things can still be used. take the exit ramps for example , if you moved the mains stands in you'd just need to bridge the difference to the ramps.
I imagine parts of the roofing structure could be re-used too. Many other aspects could be recycled to give you a cheaper rebuild than what you'd get from just demolishing.
Effectively the 700m-800m is a modified rebuild , there just isn't the money to demolish and start again.
oops
Suncorp will need to have its strange top tier corner ends filled in increasing its capacity to 60,000 & it can host them both.
Touching on what Beave said, the roof of Suncorp actually holds up level 7. I think they chose this as opposed to underground foundations due to the old Lang Park cemetery?
I would love them to knock down level 6 western and make the stadium symmetrical. That could probably take it to 62ish.

I love this picture of ANZ. Upper tiers will still be shit, but the lower bowl said to have degree similar to Suncorp.
I can see the dinosaur clubs ruining this to the point where the government walks away entirely. They are delusional if they think they will get hundreds of millions for every suburban stadium.
New proposal from some clubs would see Pirtek stadium upgrade abandoned in favour of money going to other suburban grounds

This'll set the cat amongst the pigeons
It appears any push to prevent Pirtek Stadium from being rebuilt is destined to fail, as preparations to begin construction at the end of the NRL season have progressed too far.
The clubs have every right to oppose ayers and the NRL on this matter. They and the fans of the clubs are the most affected by the coming decisions. The only ones ruining anything are the minister ayers and the SCGT interests pushing the unwanted moore park new build.
The money should be focused primarily on making ANZ a purpose built rectangular ground then refurbishments to the SFS, Parra and brooky as strategic secondary stadiums.
I fully support the clubs position on all of this and shame on the NRL for not backing them and pursuing Ayers/SCGT agenda in the process. With the commitments for content the government are chasing i really dont like the pressure its going to put on bush/road games in the future. If the clubs are contractually obliged to play games at the big 3 then a minority at the suburban stadia then they will be reluctant to send games outside of sydney. This will see wollongong, gosford and the regional centres suffer from a lack of content and given that is not much to begin with there is risk of it being a big fat zero when the dust settles.
Perfect scenario imo is
Bulldogs, souths 11 games at ANZ with one road game each
Tigers 8 games at ANZ with 2 each at the suburban grounds
Parra 11 games at refurbed pirtek with ine road game
Roosters 8 games at allianz,4 at gosford
Dragons 8 games at allianz or ANZ and 4 in the gong
Sharks 12 games at shark park phased development for upgraded seated grandstands
Manly 12 games at refurbed brooky
Penrith 9 games at penrith and 3 games at parra stadium
Everything you say is spot on. If Alliance goes ahead with a full rebuild that will be a travesty for the NRL and sport in general in NSW.
700-800m to ANZ with a roof.
200-300m for refurbish of Alliance with a roof.
300m for Pirtek already locked in due to WSW and Eels making this stadium financially viable into the future.
Sydney FC crowd less then 10k just tonight and they want a f ing new stadium...

Could manly move to the central coast permanently?
I've lived in Sydney for 10 years and I know how much of a pain it is for the manly locals to get to games outside of their area, moving games to Allianz and ANZ is not going to work. I know Gosford is even further away but would the CC locals be behind the team enough to warrant a full time move there (properly this time) along with the manly die hards? I just can't see brooky getting enough coin to do it up substantially. The joint is terrible.
