Contemporaries tended to rate O'Reilly over Grimmett, and there was an argument of him being the best of all time for many years.Yes turd...
But to be honest, I am not 100% convinced he's undoubtedly the best leggie ever - modern players have the advantage of playing many more tests, travel etc not being as gruelling...
He probably is, but I reckon there's at least a case for Clarrie Grimmett
Warne was a pretty amazing bowler, and quite possibly a once in a lifetime cricketer. The unnerving control, rare for a leggie, combined with that incredible drift, ability to rip a legbreak when needed, the endless topspinner varieties and the way he'd set batsmen up was pretty special.
Starc criticism has been pretty warrented this test, not a whole lot wrong with what Warne was saying. He's a mediocre bowler who has never really earnt his spot and never really learnt how to bowl in test cricket, despite certainly having the physical gifts to be effective.
Very happy with how Hazlewood is going. Not so fussed on pace with Hazlewood either, mid130's to early 140's is pefectly fine with the late movement and, more importantly, the sort of boucne he gets.
