I am still scratching my head trying to get around how they (bunker fool) disallowed Nikoras try.

And the head high on Tracey !!! Isn't there something in the books about reckless also.

It is a joke at times.
Well yeah that head high on Tracey left me laughing at zklein, I said to my wife if that was a tackle on Ponga Klein the clown would have penalised the player. The NRL is rigged.

Well. there's Moyza and there's the unmentioned.

Nikora and Welly 17 missed tackles between them

Williams 7. Sifa 7.

Brailey 5, Moyza 5

Colqhuoun 4 in 13 minutes!

Mental toughness score. No discernable figure.
Any coincidence that any side Moylan defends on turns to shit though? They basically have to cover two defensive positions, are sucked in or left wide by Moylan running up, out sideways, backwards (or whatever the f**k he does in defence).

Not excusing the defence of all, but anyone stuck with Moylan ends up turning to shit and (when he is on the left or the right).

I also wonder how many of those missed tackles come after something goes against us and the whole team just seems to give up and fall in a heap.... for about 50 mins we were so on and then just pea hearted. Maybe its also a fitness thing. We conceded the first try when it was obvious our props were cooked from so much ball in plat.

Fitz cannot react to how the game plays and seems set on interchange at 25min mark only, and it's costing us points.

All year and last year thats a send off penalty, it was a border line coat hanger in any era (crickets) Not that it mattered, we got butchered and our forwards have shown yet again they cant keep up with the pace. At first I thought it was an attitude problem and now I think it's more that they just aint got it. On top of all that..
Moylan is done.
Trindall is not quite ready for NRL big games.
Talakai has been devolving all year.
Ronny has been playing with a bung foot for at least 3 games, WTF?
Could probably name a few more, cbf'ed.

Talakai had a shocker. The loss was hardly his fault though. We had zero ball, and they just rolled straight through the middle in the last half an hour.

I saw there were no favours whatsoever from the referees yesterday. There should have been at least a penalty for that high shot and it should have been put on report. I wonder whether Fitzy told the players to expect no favours from the referees.

I think the NRL has an agenda of having a Newcastle home semi, simple as that.

As for the rest, well possession was 59 - 41% to them in the first half. We were doing well to hold on. We just ran out of petrol in the second half and I put the underwhelming performances such as Sifa and Ronnie down to injuries and the dropped ball down to nerves and fatigue. Fox commentators also mentioned a better kick chase from Newcastle which I agree with.

And it would have helped if Jesse had made a certain tackle on Ponga about half an hour earlier.

Hopefully the refereeing is more neutral this Sunday.

I thought at best the video evidence on Nikon's no try was inconclusive.
Surely in that situation they support the ref's on field decision.
It was sent up as a try.
I didn't think there was enough to overturn it as, on all angles shown, the ball is lost at times while he was still rolling around trying to get it down.

The Tracey no penalty looked spectacular but I don't think was worthy of a send off, or binning.
But there was contact around the neck which, as others have said, has been an automatic penalty for about 2 years now.
Poor decision.

The score blew out in the end, but I think they'd be fairly happy with the first 60 minutes.
The amount of time they spent defending their own line and only being down by 12 was a solid effort.

The problem for me is, we seem to keep saying that: 'They had no ball. They were coming off their own line the whole game'.

Why?
Ill-discipline.

Sort that shit out, pronto.

Likely end up there facing them in 2 weeks. I'm ok with that.

Game was over at half time when they had 30 tackles in our 20 vs our 6 or 8. Then we had like 35% ball in the 2nd half. Just hope we don't get Klein'd again in the first half. We handled them well defending our line for 40 fkn minutes.

100% correct on the Nikore try. If it was sent as a no try I'd have no problem with it standing as no try, but it wasn't.

There was no clear evidence, but I find it hard to believe it didn't initially graze the turf.

If Ronaldo is injured or not when he makes a miss he just gives up, not a good look, from now a senior player, one who said wants to be a leader.
His form all year has been over the place, he hasn't improved, saying that not many of them have.
I agree Moylan on the field hurts us both in attack and defence.
He looks so slow with the ball, I hope super league still want him

Ponga has a high grade AC joint injury, wont play next week and will be racing to play week 1 of finals.

Defn wont be 100%

No coincidence. Just a sad fact of footy life in Cronulla. He doesn't seem to inspire any confidence and contributes to so many disconnects

Agree
It was just defence, it's now attack as well.
The stint off the bench has worked as a negative, I don't think there was a plan for him on the bench thrust back into the team nothing was offered in anything he done.
He goes to make a run it is such a slow wind up everyone knows what is coming and it's nothing

A great tackle by Mr Ramien. The only problem with it was that is was about 55minutes too late.

And didn't they (the commentary team) try really hard to find something illegal with the hit.
