His moment with Roose reminded me of Kylo Ren with Han Solo.

They really f**king nailed this episode. The Jon Snow return understandably makes you forget about all the other great shit that happened.

The directing of that final scene was just perfect. I was constantly wavering on the verge of 'It'll happen now' and 'They're just trolling us'.

Every lingering shot was a tease, and that final moment was pretty awesome.

That last scene was so cliched I felt like I'd seen it dozens of times before in different shows and movies. It was pretty lazy writing.

It worked precisely because it played off the cliche. The constant close ups and musical swells and worried looks teased out what we knew was going to happen.

The fact it created doubt is a sign it worked well.

I'm glad they did this now rather than making us wait all season for us. Get on with the SNOWBOWL!

It might be 'cliche' to have the hero re-awaken right at the end, but not all cliches are bad, and it was executed perfectly. They made you think that the resurrection would go all smoothly, and then they tickled your feelings of doubt and disappointment. They took virtually everyone on an emotional roller coaster. I'd rather them do it like that than kind of rush it. It was also a good way to make Ghost's relationship with Jon even cooler.

What other way could it be done? He resurrects when they try to burn him? Targaryens may have better heat resistance than others but I don't think a Targaryen has ever been resurrected from a fire.

My best mate is having a bitch because 'his resurrection was rushed' with 'lazy writing'. Please. He wanted them to do the ritual, have the ritual fail, proceed to burn his body, discover it doesn't burn because he's a targaryen, and then have him warg back from ghost into his own body. I mean yeah that sounds really cool but come on, his warging *in the show* isn't even established.
