What halves will look good with 30% possession in the 1st half. When we did get ball we were stuffed even despite that there was chances. If Klemmer doesn't trip Hunt Cleary puts Crichton over. A few minutes earlier He put Crichton away only to throw it away. Those chances change the game and if it is CHN or Yeo then it is tries.

Hey a reasonable response. I can accept this.

He topped the statistics in running meters, but, yeah what ever.

Sure. But since when did running metres and workrate stats rate as highly as try assists and linebreak assists? It's a halfback we are talking about here.

He isn't in the NSW team to make hit ups that's for sure.

It was 9-2 penalty count with 20 mins to go. Before our intercept it was 28-1 tackles in opposition 20. 100 or so extra tackles made by NSW... Do you think QLD would be happy with their halves given those stats?

Of course not. Our defence was insane. The problem is Cleary is being talked up with his running and he isn't a prop. I do expect him to improve with a week off and back with familiar surroundings.

It wasn't just him. If you were picking an Aust side who would be half? It was a series where halves struggled.

I want to see the halves have a good month training and playing together. Then we can better judge

You don't get that in rep teams though.

On tonight you'd puck DCE. They didn't score but he took the line on and got repeat sets which was better than any other half on field.

So many newbies across both teams kept it low scoring made it hard for the halves.

Says more about the other halves in the series that it is that case

Qld thoroughly deserved there win last night. So much for the Blues forward pack being so much better than the Maroons they were outmuscled for pretty much the entire game. Pretty hard for the halves to shine given the almost total dominace by Qld. Qld were better for large parts of game two and slightly unlucky perhaps not to win that one as well. NSW may have won the series, good on them, but huge doubts remain about them and I can't see us going on much of a winning run with this side.

He was also picked after what 2 weeks after being out for 10? Im not getting the hate

It’s not hate it’s being realistic. There’s just not much to his game atm. 2 years ago his game was the same, he’s bigger, stronger and more experienced now but he’s not that much better than he was.

He’s a very good young player but I think it would be a mistake to pay him big money expecting him to improve a lot from what he is now.

It’s not hate, he’s a high quality footballer, it’s about getting his role right. He’s one of the most composed young players I’ve ever seen.

He’s can be a very good 7 imo I just think he will cost us too much. We should offer him a deal for sure but if he gets bigger offers let him go. For the right price he is a very good halfback for us, put Luai next to him and I can see them leading to us to a lot of success over the next 5+ years.

The club is stacked with talent. Competition for spots at every position. Peachey struggles to make the 13 we have that many good players. We absolutely do not need to take a risk by giving a young half a huge deal. Offer him what he is worth to us right now, not what he could be worth in 5 years in a fairytale situation.

His defense has improved as he got stronger, but his kicking game has disappeared. That's a significant problem for a half. He's touted as a running half, but doesn't have the pace for mine. I love his attitude and work ethic, but he lacks in too many areas to break the bank on.

Yep, its just a risk we do not need to take. At a fair price I like him as a controlling half a lot but my idea of a fair price is a long way off the figure being thrown around.
