Parra were much, much, much more shit this week to be fair.

Parra are in a deep hole now. I can’t remember the precise statistic but I think I have heard that no team has ever won the GF after conceding more than 50 points in a regular season game.

We play them again in only a few weeks time. People are going to start claiming we have a soft draw again...

Yeah it's a thread topic on the main page.

We have a soft draw because we can't play against ourselves. Not fair but it is what it is.

Cows could be 1 from 3 before we play them too... Soft draw calls no doubt will follow

We just need to destroy soft teams. Not make it look like luck or tough work to beat them.

Scalp a few good teams along the way and it's all good. Although I think after next week all 3 teams we have played will be sitting on zero wins.

Eels lose to Sharks.
Souths lose to Manly.
Bulldogs lose to us.

Cowboys in week 4 will be our first game against a team with a win.

So it looks like we will be playing a full strength Dogs side. The Dogs started well against Melbourne in the first round (and scored two tries against the Storm early). We haven't been starting well, so that's a risk for us. We lost to their reserve grade side during the trials. The Dogs are also looking for their first win, so I don't think it will be an easy game.

I also assume that, given McKendry is going for scans, that he is unlikely to play. Tim Browne is also out. I expect that means Leota will come onto the bench in McKendry's place, unless Leota goes straight into the starting side with RCG back onto the bench (I think he has shown himself to be far more effective off the bench than starting).

36% possession to us both 1st halves. I agree with Leota in. I rate JFH but he missed 7 tackles in that 1st half. I'd start CHN over him IF they want Kikau off the bench still

Two weeks in a row we have played in hot conditions. The Dogs will be licking their lips. I think we will be very tired and their big pack will be hard to handle. The Morris boys, Mbye and Hopoate look fit and fast. Mbye would be as fast as Blake, he is deceptively quick as is Brett Morris. They will be tough opposition and looking for their first win might be enough to get them across the line. They are scoring tries against teams with good defences - Storm and Roosters. That is impressive considering what they were like under Des. This is going to be tough to win.

As for the Eels, I can't help but think that teams that play us will be feeling it the next week. We go the full 80 and are relentless. In that heat at Penrith, I think the Eels were cooked by the time they got to play Manly. It will be interesting to see what happens to Souths next week. They got the same treatment.

It will be a wet game. 3rd day of 10mm of rain so that will help us. Our kicking game is better. Our forwards are better

Our forwards are better than Josh Jackson, Klemmer and Woods? Pretty much half the NSW pack.

For the record I'm not a Woods fan but he is better than Leota, Browne or Sam.

Our forwards are much improved this year. Particularly in defence we bullied their pack twice last year. Are stronger this year so why would the result be any different?

Our forwards are certainly fitter. Should help in a wet game played rough through the middle.

This comment from reddit about the dogs gives me hope:

"The Dogs have conceded 30+ points in both their games. They look a lot more enthusiastic, Mybe is a better fullback than a half, but I don't think they'll be a threat this year. Their forwards made no metres, barring a break from shocking missed tackle from the Roosters, as a opposing fan I wasn't scared a single time their halves had the ball."

Jackson is a stock standard NRL forward. How he is first picked for rep teams is mind boggling

Yep. It's rediculous he's taking a space over much better players.

Our strength and conditioning coach has done an outstanding job. If there is a fitter team in the NRL I will be surprised.

Also - Hook must get credit for his use of the bench. Kikaus injection last week and Peachy this week were both game turners.

I think both Klemmer and Jackson are two of the most overrated forwards in the game, for whatever reason they have so much hype I won't know. I wouldn't be swapping RCG, Merrin, Tamou, Yeo and even Kikau for either of them.

Woods is a good player but nothing worrying enough that our forwards shouldn't be able to handle.

Early on Fitness is key to getting wins on the board.

Peachey possibly was left a bit late but I guess he lasted. If he came on too early and was gassed it would of been a fail. I still like RCG and JFH off the bench but can't complain about results. 35 tackles from Tamou is much better

They are a bottom 4 team. Our defence will be too strong for them. Also their back 3 are ordinary we will bomb away and play field position

It works well for us to hold off RCG's injection for the first 20 mins of the game. It only works if guys like Tamau, Merrin etc are doing their job (no complaints this year so far). This is why Browne was good for us last year.
