It works well for us to hold off RCG's injection for the first 20 mins of the game. It only works if guys like Tamau, Merrin etc are doing their job (no complaints this year so far). This is why Browne was good for us last year.

He still played 60mins on the weekend but didn't seem to be out there. For me Browne either starts or plays NSW Cup we need a plodder for the 1st 20mins. Then bring on the big guns

8. Tamou
9. Wallace
14. JFH
11. Kikau
12. Yeo
13. Mez

10. RCG
15. Mckendry
16. CHN
17. Peachey

If we must bench Kikau use CHN outwide instead. JFH isn't any better defensively on the edges or as effective running lines. But he's terrific in the middle colliding with other big guys.

JFH hits hard but often bounces off tackles 7 1st half misses for example. That team posted McKendry is best to start. Gets tired and lazy but should be right for 20 mins.

"The Dogs have conceded 30+ points in both their games. They look a lot more enthusiastic, Mybe is a better fullback than a half, but I don't think they'll be a threat this year. Their forwards made no metres, barring a break from shocking missed tackle from the Roosters, as a opposing fan I wasn't scared a single time their halves had the ball."
They've been beaten by two sides expected to do well, but then both those sides have lost to the Tigers. The Dogs last year had a good performance in them here and there, and so we need to be wary. They have several topliners in their side, at least as many as us. They'll be playing at home, in their massive home ground, but before too small a gathering even to be called a crowd.

Like last game we need to be wary, it may possibly turn out to be a gimme but it may well not.

I like this pack, but agree that CHN in for Kikau would work better.

Personally I think it is the best pack we have had since '91.

They generally struggle against us. Was it round 3 last year when we put 40-0 on them??

I am too young to remember past that but it is the best pack I can remember.

I am a CHN fan does the simple things well. Runs great lines just needs fitness

Big call. Lang, Priddis, Waterhouse, Puletua, Galuvao, Clinton, Ross. I think they would destroy our current pack.

If we went on to win a premiership this season this pack would be looked back at in a similar fashion as our 2003 one.

Although never in a million years is Wallace going to be in the same league as Priddo at his prime.

Tamou. Merrin. RCG. Aussie internationals.
JFH. Mckendry. Kiwi Internationals.

Yeo isnt a rep player. But he's been consistently great for us.

Kikau is a Fiji rep... although that in itself isn't a big deal. The way he matched the Aussie and Kiwi packs is impressive.

CHN is a solid player. Was great for us last year. I'd rate him ahead of Luke Swain atleast.

Peachey... potential origin player. Although I don't see it happening.

If everyone hits peak form. This is a really strong pack. Most premiership sides seem to have guys who just hit form at the same time. This side is good enough to become a premiership winning team if all our guys hit a purple patch of form together.

Although beyond that you need injuries to go your way also. Maybe to get the rub of the green a little more often and for the coach to use his team to the best of its ability.

Maybe we should line them up

RCG vs Lang
Wallace vs Priddis
Tamao vs Clinton
Yeo vs Waterhouse
Kikau vs Galuvao
Merrin vs Sattler

Bench
Peachy/JFH/CHN/McKendry

vs

Puletua, Swain, Ross, ???

When you look at it like that the player types seem to line up, however I feel there is more skill and potential in the current squad.
