Also reinforces in my mind why all of the Storm's premierships after 1999 are tainted. If the Storm didn't cheat the cap so significantly, they would never have been able to keep Slater, Smith and Cronk together.

Keeping them together - all excellent players who were able to then play with each other for the best part of a decade - was the key to their success. Case in point, look what happens when they take Cronk out of the side and have a new kid as their half back.

Same reason why it is hard to tell how good Bellamy really is. I mean every team would take him and he is a good coach but is he better than Bennett or Sheens in their prime?

I didn't have them in my top 4 for that and lack of a GK. We have the most complete roster it is more keeping it on the park

We have one of the better rosters but I think saints have the most complete atm. Two good halves, good hooker and good prospect at fullback playing behind a beastly forward pack. I'm just going to assume their depth is at least a little better than ours also.

Their depth is very ordinary. We have a backup GK of 90%. Debuting 3 guys already is a big advantage too for later in the year

Random thought... the trend these days is to have something on the upper back of the jersey between the collar and the sponsor (i.e. Parramatta have 1947, Cronulla have 1967, etc.)

Penrith currently don't have one, although went for the past logos in 2016. I was thinking that to look back at our past the Panthers can use that space by containing a brown and white stripe plus an older logo in between, like this (sorry about the dodgy Paint job):

There may be some concerns about the brown and black together, and maybe be somewhat lost if on the white away jersey... maybe two brown stripes and one white instead.

I like the idea, what about the logos from the premiership years?

The Brown and white can f*ck right off. It looks like poo brown. Yuk. I take it you don't want young kids to support us? When we market tested our brown and white colours back in the 90's the research said something like "ewwwww'. We had the worst selling jerseys in the NRL even though we had a gun roster that made two grand finals.

Yes it was part of our heritage, but that choice was just another terrible decision by the management at the time, one in a long list of them. It needs to stay in the past.

Brown aside, I'd love to see the old logos (particularly the 90s one) somewhere on the jersey. I still associate those old logos with the club more than I do the current one.

Not a complete re-design, just the back top as I said... say 2cm high and however much across. I think kids would like to know a bit about our heritage.

So with Mansour gone for a while, if DWZ is back next week presumably he goes to Mansour's wing, or do he and Chricton switch?

Also if DWZ isn't ready, who comes onto the wing? My guess would be Caleb Aitkens.

Being from Melbourne. I've just realised I have to wait til the last round of the season before we get to pummel them. In recent years, normally the fixture is done by halfway.

For mine we shift Whare and run with CHN and Peachey in the centres.

I know Whare is an average winger. But I think its our best option if DWZ isnt back. If he is then its perfect timing.

DWZ should be back he would be a straight swap. If not him Eisenhuth I rate the current wingers in ISP but neither are NRL ready

Fox sports should have a replay of NSW Cup through the week if anyone missed it. Back to back strong wins v Strong opponents. Phillips back this week and Jed should go into the starting side will only help more
