Why is that. Cause I don't drink the Gus is God cool aid?

Facts man. Last 4/5 finals, 13, 15 NYC, 17, 15(?) ISP...
Plus the rest of the grades.

What are the contributing factors that have seen this shift?

It's your money and time, I just hope you don't look like a bandwagoner when you come running back when all the grassroots pay off.

The Goliath of Sydney is finally waking up again.

The Goliath of Sydney is finally waking up again.

Let's compare when I started on here in 2008.

There was no 6pm Fri games. Given I work in the CBD til 5.30. I need to take the day off to make those games.

There was the NYC. Now certain games don't have anything before the main game. Less incentive to go.

The General quality of footy is worse. Wrestle, stop start - The Sharks game at home. Kikau gets cramp in the last minute and the game is held up. Just play footy.

All that is great achievement so then why does Gus bang on about the experienced teams having the advantage etc? It gets tiresome when he can change it.

Back then I also didn't have kids. I was in Bowral with the kids the day of the Warriors semi and jumped on a train to just make the game.

The auto renewals and the fact we have a team of nice guys is the reason I will keep my membership.

ATM the TV product is much better than the live product. The fact Gus is annoying me ATM is just part of it. I can certainly agree with people like that in the tweet

Plenty are pissed with Gus. They can do what they want about it really

A lot of people, our fans included don't like Gus, not necessarily for what he stands for, or what he does for our club just who he is.

He polarises peoples opinions and always has done even before he returned to the Panthers.

I could be wrong but did we not have record memberships last season and average home crowds of 14,000 plus.

I understand there are some fans who cannot wait to see the day when Gus is gone, but I have been there during the darkest days (season after season) so forgive me I if take some enjoyment from winning more games than we lose.

I will always respect and be grateful for the work he put in. Maybe it is his health issues of late maybe it is he is being left behind the times.

For me I struggle to see how this roster of ours would be right on the cap if a few other people were in charge.

It isn't just that. Look at the last 12 months. The trial blow up I don't think he should of worried about it. Though if he did want more attack why get rid of Latu, Moylan and Bryce? You can't lose those 3 then expect to have good attack especially in a trial.

Then there was the unnessary garbage brought on after sacking Griffin. All that was needed was a statement he was gone. 4 times during the week he commented on it including mentioning Ivan which only heaped pressure on Nathan with the questions that followed.

Then there is the praising of other teams older roster while setting us up with a young one.

Those things are why Gus the club offical should go imo. Got nothing to do with him as a commentator etc

Latu was to pay for maloney. He can't even make first grade since he left so I don't understand what you're going on about there.

Moylan is a non committal party boy. Hed rather be on the piss and jamming baggies up his nose than to be committed to his football career. He could have been anything, but it's passing him at a fast rate. He's 27 now and hasn't progressed, still only plays 10 minutes a game, and 80 versing penrith. He didn't come alive until the last 10 just last week against storm when the game was well gone.

Bryce. Ye of short memory. Give me one reason he is better in any area than Maloney. He couldn't tackle for shit, he couldn't kick for shit, he threw the most geniused offloads when the team needed a quick hitup and fast play the ball. The dude had some mint touches but would throw the ball over the sideline and do some other f**ked up shit 5 times to every 1 miracle play that would pay off. And again, he's not even playing first grade elsewhere.

One of the most talented halves of this generation so far was brought into our squad in 2016, and since then it's been a bumbling failure of development due to the most amateur "gameplan", and a coach who honestly has no f**king idea what he's doing, and flat out refused to let people help.
Hook is a germ and should have been paying us for the privilege. It's a f**king miracle that we landed Maloney, and it was out of necessity for both clubs. I hope Maloneys mouth rubs off on Cleary so when he hangs up the boots, we'll have a leader to steer the ship around with luai as a running 5/8.

Re: Gus. How do you build experience?
This isn't roosters or broncos or storm where experienced players come flocking on unders for the opportunity to play under a historically successful franchise. We are a development club, so we use our own. You get them young enough, bring them to grade and sign them long term with the intention of keeping them happy and alongside their mates, to warn off any poaching attempts by the ca$h club$.

You don't like Gus as a person so you're quick smart to bury everything that happens. How can you honestly sit there and think that an NRL side losing to an ISP side was o.k. and GUS was out of line to hit up the coach over it?

Re: attack.
You realise we were the best attacking side in the competition until they backflipped on the slowing the ruck penalties?
Remember? Tigers, Panthers, warriors, saints at the top of the table when they were allowed to play fast flowing football?
Then the whole organisation did a 180 and we got stuck with more of the same bunch of rule bending cheats in the top 4 (I'll exclude South's from that argument).
Where were the infamous cheaters roosters, sharks and Melbourne when they were getting hammered by being grubs?

If you have any questions I'll be sure to clarify.

And the statements on hook. Gus has media commitments for a start, and it's his job to answer those questions. Griffin was the first one to come out and say that the JUNIOR NRL PATHWAYS was all his credit. The junior pathways that won NYC in 13 and 15, before he even had a job with us. He's a country bumpkin and is absolutely delusional if he thinks that he is responsible for the 13 and 15 NYC titles. He brought kids into grade.. By necessity because the senior players in front of them moved on or retired or were injured, and we didn't recruit externally. The kids he brought into grade were proven winners through the lower grades so it's not that much of an achievement either.

Yeah there was a a very noticeable flip when the crackdown changed.

You also reminded me of this quote from Iron Fist on netflix.

"You hire people when they're young, single, looking for something to commit to, to build their lives around. Pay them twice what they're worth. It builds loyalty."

It was a trial and unless there was some sort of agreement that Gould could overrule Griffin on coaching matters (which no NRL coach would agree to) of course Gus was out of line. And in public too. What do you think Bellamy would say if one of the bosses at the Storm tried this on? Just pure lack of respect.

To be fair Hook has never earned any

I am not against the guys that went but we don't have guys that can do what they can. Aside from Luai that is and he is only 4 games into his career so is hardly at the level where he can dominate.

Why Latu though? I mean we could of sent a boring forward say Tamou up there. That is the sort of thing I mean across the top 3 grades all are the same style of player.

The backflip behind our attack fails... Souths and Canberra had the best attack this year. Neither are a wrestle slow down type team. We fell apart after Origin for various reasons

As for experienced from the unsigned list. Koriosau would be good but finances would allow

Tagatese
Javid Bowen
Allgood
Baptise

Instead of Coleman, Cartwright and a few guys at the bottom of our 30 man squad. That is where we currently fall behind others imo

As for the trial. We finished 5th they finished 12th. Does winning a trial change that? I mean it is always good to win them but every team has their own goals for them. Ours was fitness. Dogs was to get younger guys a game

that is the issue for me. Whether you like Hook or not he was there to prepare the team to the goals outlined by those above

Hook isn't bellamy. We are one of the most penalised teams and Hook wouldn't even let the refs come to training, do you think Bellamy would do that?

See Nathans comments today that there was a lot of confusion when hook was here and everyone was happier once he was gone? lol.

Because there was a feud between him and Gould to the extent that Ciraldo was message boy between them and life was unbearable for all concerned as a result. The incident at Belmore having been a catalyst, possibly not the only one for that situation.

I thought Nathan was pretty careful to distance himself from the situation.

No guarantee if Gus doesn't like how the team is tracking the same issues won't come up again

Griffin had a fued with everyone. We had staff leaving because of him. The medical staff weren't getting on with him. He feuded with players here also, his own captain who he forced into the job left because of him.

And again what kind of idiot coach refuses help from the referees when we have been one of the most penalised teams for years?! The stubborn fool refused to let ANYONE help him, it wasn't just Gus.
