He stood down without kicking a stink....

He wanted bennett... wasnt to be and realised the others wanted ivan and he stood down at seasons end..

He went out gracefully. Literally didnt bag anyone' didnt say anything..

The club went behind hes back and he still didnt throw anyone under a bus. He went out on his shield.

He loved penrith to the last minute he was here.

Im sure hes heart is fully into helping the dogs atm but hes a penrith man and always will be..

Hes not a saint and he isnt the messiah..whether you can appreciate or agree with what he did for the club is debatable as has been on here recently.

But to be soo against him you truly believe he is spiteful of the club and is orchestrating such petty things as to send photos of kiks to the media after everything hes done in the game is just so petty and embarrasing mate..

And as a gould fan i think that for everyone... i dont even think a sacked nrl coach who has been thrown under the bus would be that petty or dumb.

Remember when Hook got fired. He went on NRL 360 and emblished the truth - it was essentially a job interview for him.

Gus then returned fire on the Thurs and Sunday footy shows - there was simply no need outside of ego to fire back.

The side needed him elsewhere.

I never said Gus released the photo.
I don't believe he released that or Reed Mahoney having chinese one.

I believe that someone with 30 years of coaching experience.
20 years of working in the media.
The numerous incidents he as GM of football had to deal with.

Knew very well that someone would get the photos out.

Gould did makes mistakes. Some of his mistakes towards the end of his time at Penrith. Cost the club a great deal of money.

Even he cost us money, signing a new deal 3 year deal I think it was.

That is part of why it is done at pre season training. The 1st day is promo shots and media stuff

True, but why re-sign him on a long deal to only part ways months later? Perhaps it was bad timing? But I am sure some board members didn't want his influence anymore.

I do thank him for what he did and Glad Greg brought him to revive the club, but the last 5 months he has shown a bitter taste towards the club. Like someone else said, we got the best out of him, couldn't handle the warrior's and seems tired at the Bulldogs.

be interesting to see how Canterbury Sponsors (mainly Laundy family) react to this season if the Dogs dont improve, I recall them getting very lippy in the media last season trying to get Burton released early - wonder if they love Gus/Baz or if they are going to want Gus/Baz punted if it continues to get worse.

My older brother (who doesn't support the Panthers, sad soul that he is) made this coment.

Gould doesn't seem able to stop himself interferring in the coaching side of whatever club he is in.

This as we all know creates huge huge issues. This seems to be an example of it.

He can't help himself. He is a control freak.
He interfered regularly when Ricky Stuart was our coach. He used to ask what the game plan was, then put his two bobs worth in, later in the week he would come up with another game plan. If the side lost heavily or didn't follow his master plan he would have no problem walking in the dressing sheds and giving the players spray.
Even runs training sessions.

Wasn't he supposed to be a player agent too?

At Penrith he was Managing Director. At Easts he was Coaching Director - a position he has yet to move out of.
