Davey had the balls to put his name to it, probably to help the smaller fish, but rather than arguing against his opinion or trying to get an understanding of his position, the Dogs are getting personal and trying to smear his name/reputation so his opinion becomes invalid. The Bulldogs have clearly gone on the offensive to control the narrative which most seem to be eating up. When was the last time multiple players from a club spoke up against their club or former club of employment? There's clearly a bigger issue than one player not enjoying wrestling or thinking training is too hard, despite what Gus wants to feed us.
Re; Tallis, he was 100% patronizing. He wasn't trying to make a genuine point like you have, he was trying to belittle the guy.
All good points martielang. I thought Graham did "play the man", as it were, but he also played the ball, addressing the fact you can't drop standards.
I agree that obviously there is an issue at the Dogs. You can't finish so low in the table and expect people are happy. But implying it is causing mental health issues, is a bridge too far.
My take on the Dogs is this. Ciraldo was with us a long time and there was never a whisper of man management issues. He was a coach of lower grades, no complaints.
The Dogs on the other hand have been nowhere for seven years. Board changes, coach changes and wooden spoons. I think Ciraldo has gone in and tried to set the same standards as the Panthers when the Dogs have been used to mediocrity.
The jump has been too big and the players couldn't cope. Change management 101, progress in stages and give people a chance to adjust. There is no way the 2011 Panthers could cope with the current training regime without some time to change their bodies and mental approach.
Half the teams in the competition are calling for oxygen after playing us for 20 minutes. I would imagine the Dogs are like, Panthers level fitness, "WTF"!
