The thing that stinks about the GI transfer is that the total amount being counted against the salary caps of both clubs is $340k - $300k against brisbane's salary cap, and $40k against Melbourne's second tier(!) salary cap. This is a slap in the face of every other club in the league. The rules state that when a player changes clubs mid-contract (as is the case here), then the full value of the original contract must still be counted, so that if the new club is paying them less, the difference is counted against the old club's salary cap until the time the original contract would have expired. There is no f**king way in hell Inglis is currently on $340k. Surprise, surprise, News Ltd. are dealing themselves a hand full of aces.
