Gillett sin bin

I think what can happen is that if a player reacts in a violent manner, even if he does have the penalty, it can be reversed. On that occasion I think the penalty should have been reversed and given to the Roosters!

I remember going through this at ref's training. Their reasoning was braith committed the crusher or chicken wing or what ever it was and the ref blew the penalty, as he was blowing it faalongo got up and hit him. Faalongo got binned for taking it into his own hands, braith got penalised for illegal play which lead to the punch.

We always hear ref's say "don't come in and get it overturned", can anyone think of a time it has actually happened?

Better than Morris Was In?

Better than Brent Tate getting 10 in the bin for being punched?

I thought it was Bwaiff who binned for being punched? Or were there two such incidents?

But yes, they are strong contenders.

the ref simply reacted to the St Merge players calls.

hopefully, he'll be getting next week and the finals to learn the rules for next season.

More controversy from the quick tap, sure the ref should have known the tackle count, but this obsession to speed the game up by introducing new rules instead of dealing with the real issue of wrestling is putting a lot of added pressure on refs to come up with big calls in split seconds.

nuffy rules to speed up the game, then stop it for 5 mins for every try ruling by video and conversions.

f**king ridiculous how Marshall could waltz down the field like that because of restart rules. is this rugby league or f**king touch football?

it's even leaving refs unprepared for plays and leading to the shit ruling last night.

And f**k me dead if Dugans try was bonafide. Clearly hits Nightingale on the wrist in the first replay as he makes an attempt to catch it.

Sometimes when I see things like this, the bullshit swaying and evening up of penalty counts, and Joey/Freddie etc telling me the Dragons are right in it when they look shot ducks at 24-4, makes me wonder if the conspiracy theorists have a point

So what are you whinging about? The video ref? Because everyone else in this thread seems to be whinging that the video ref isn't used more to over rule other decisions which he can't.

Im not whinging about anything. My main point is that we can't keep going to the video referee for every single incident in a game.

I think its really hard to get a penalty overturned for that sort of thing these days as nobody can throw punches anymore. There is this really funny video clip on youtube of Les Davidson punching the headgear of Peter Kelly's head. Bill Harrigan in his infinite wisdom sends Davidson to the bin but gives Souths the penalty! Its hard to believe how that could happen!

No they aren't. They're saying the decision should've changed on field at the time.

The Dragons were doing better than the score suggested at that point. Regardless when you're down by 20 you are up shit creek. Then again the Broncos have let bigger leads slip lately.

What was irritating me more was Wally claiming the Broncos just needed a good performance to prove they are premiership contenders. They are the epitome of a ploddy fringe 8 side.

Cummins proving time and time again why he has never been up to first grade standard

What would have the NRL done if the Broncos lost the game?

Probably the same as they did after Dragons lost to Storm earlier in the year from an equally bad decision.....SFA :x

They need to introduce captains challenge like they have in the NYC.

They overturn, penalties, tries, scrum feed calls, restart of play decisions etc. It seems to work ok from what I've seen of it.

The referee just reversed his own call in the Raiders/Tigpies game.

Well at least we know they learned their f**king lesson at least. Thanks, f**kwits.

That's the first I've heard that. Everyone else is saying it clearly hit him on the torso, even Griffin said that. You are the first person I have seen say it hit him on the wrist. Musn't have been so clear to literally every other person who watched the game.

The sin bin afterwards was a f**king joke though

lol faalongo had to be binned for sure!

What happened? Wasn't watching.
