His position literally had become redundant. He has no power or say at all anymore. He's doing us a massive favour in stepping down. We won't be paying him $1m a year to do nothing in future.

I think our board has f**ked us pretty hard though. Although Gus wasn't perfect. He knew better than our board. On the plus side we might get someone more ruthless to manage our salary cap.

I have little confidence in a board of current or past sponsors It makes no sense You should not be entitled to those positions especially people without football management credentials Realisticly we only have a few wise heads on that board I feel now the others selected will be running the whole show To much power is very dangerous for any ONE person to have !!!!

That's a maiden comp. And he was wrong. John Lang won his maiden and only premiership in his 271st game as a first grade coach. That is not counting his coaching in the Brisbane comp prior to coming to the Sharks.

NRL 360 also said Gus has already spoken to Cronulla but the Sharks nearly fell off their chair when they found out how much Gus is being paid at Penrith. Apparently the conversation ended pretty quickly after that.

I wish gus all the very best in the future he tried his best to deliver us another premiership cant knock his passion for the club but his time was up and he didnt see eye to eye with cleary or oneill.Gus will always hold a special place at Panthers for delivering us our 1st ever premiership something i wont forget.Lets just hope now that he is moving on ivan fletcher and oneill can all work together on saving our season this yr and build the club going forward.For success we need everyone to be on the same page no fighting or bickering out with the old and in with the new bring on the bunnies Friday night its gonna be rabbit stew.

Appreciate the sentiment, however saving the season will need to be all on Dave's mate because the other 2 are clueless.
