Interesting that Magnay on the Offsiders this morning said that when the full story comes out we would feel some sympathy towards Bird. She obviously knows something and was defending him.

This doesn't surprise me at all. After what happened at Coffs Harbour with the Bulldogs when the media went crazy on lies and hysteria when it was clear they were INNOCENT.

Have we not learnt anything from all this about how the media operate?

didn't watch it and Magnay always seems to be laying the boot in so who knows.

Exactly, as I said people need to understand how the media operates before they judge.

Seems the only people who have layed the boot in have been us.

Do you think if this was an AFL player people would condemn him so quickly. Bird basically has been hung before anyone knows the full story.

just watched it and she said an "element of sympathy" and sounded like she knew something. Masters was surprised by her comments.

Exactly ;let's not condemn RL players so quickly. After the disgusting treatment handed to the Bulldogs over the Coffs Harbour lies, has anyone ever seen or heard from the girl who made the accusations afterall every two bit tabloid would have offered her cash for the story, I guess there really wasn't one afterall as the police knew.

Did anyone ever apoligise to the players for what they had to go through afterwards.

Anyhow, what I am saying is don't blindly believe all the crap spewed out by ALL media outlets.

"glassing", seems to be a word used more and more.

"Greg Bird is a flat out psycho" is a phrase which is really catching on too!!

Oh look, I typed it just then

Lets tip-toe around the subject and call it "the facial injury caused by a sharp 'glass-like' object"

And "driving" will be now known as "operating an automobile".

100% gospel truth. It would be a trifecta of media, Club and fans making all sorts of excuses for him

yes interesting comments by magnay ...

so if there was a plausible explanation as to how a glass could go into someone's eye so hard that it broke their eye socket ...

why was there the desperate need to try and blame someone who was several kilometres away playing golf ?

why wouldn't you just say she slipped on a banana skin and fell on the glass ?

sounds like a job for ...

haha - i agree...
how many of us have accidentally smashed our partners in the face with a glass??? hmmm??? sorry - not sure how this could happen 'accidentally'?

even as an accident its pretty horrible and deserves some form of action by authorities - the force to break an eye socket would take a glass thrown with some force - how many of you throw glasses across a room near your mrs?

Can't say I have.

But I have had a pint glass thrown at me.

Not by my Mrs though (yet)..

Had an angry ant throw a pint glass at me at the Crown Casino when he didn't agree that NSW cricketers had earned most of Australia's cricket glory whilst Victorians have had an easy ride.

I don't think he will be throwing any more glasses.

Shook me up a little when I stopped punching holes into face and thought about it.

What if the eye socket isn't broken?

Its a bit like that South Park take on Hurricane Katrina where the news presenter asked the reporter on site if they were seeing cannibalism and the reporter replied "No, but we are reporting it"

There has been no official listing of the injuries sustained, maybe the fractured eye socket was one of the "innacuracies in the media" from the only statement released by the victim.

Being drunk and falling over is enough. What is it like being stupid?

Yeah right. The text message went like this:

7.15 a.m

"Kate has fallen over drunk on a glass. Me and my lawyer have been talking about it and we think we're going to blame it on you. How do you feel about that?..."

Sounds like she didn't want to cook Greg's eggs.

The guy is a scum bucket, going from his past, but let's hear what he has to say.

So he tried to shift the blame, it is only natural if you are Sharks man.
