. Now lets re-word it in a way that is every bit as apt. Why is it that some here are quick to dismiss media reports that inglis didn't assault his GF where she stated as such and yet when that same media runs stories that Inglis did allegedly assualt her you accept that without question?

I say it's every bit as apt because there's just as many people (if not more) who have pinned him as guilty regardless of what his GF has come out and said as what there are people saying it the other way around. You can't just use that to suit your argument yet dismiss it when it goes right against your argument.

Totally agree.

Just reading through this thread, you can already pick up on those that want him to be found guilty.

Inglis struggling with assault claims

Rugby league star Greg Inglis has been struggling since accusations broke that he assaulted his former girlfriend Sally Robinson.
Inglis was charged with assaulting Ms Robinson on August 10 after an incident at his Altona Meadows home.
The Melbourne Storm centre and Ms Robinson have widely been reported as being a "couple" at the time of the incident but Inglis' manager Allan Gainey told AAP on Wednesday that wasn't the case.
"She has been his ex-girlfriend since March, they haven't been together since March," Gainey said.
Another woman, bikini model Kelley Cox, told Woman's Day magazine last week that she was now Inglis' girlfriend.
There were reports Inglis tried to disarm Ms Robinson while she was in the process of self-harm.
She is said to have been in "Greg's face" when he allegedly palmed her away. Ms Robinson allegedly suffered a black eye.
She hired solicitor, Bob Galbally, of Galbally Rolfe, and altered her statement last week when re-interviewed by police.
Inglis, 22, has been stood down by the club pending his court hearing on August 26.
Gainey said the Australian and Queensland kingpin "hadn't been eating or sleeping" since the incident and "isn't travelling very well".
"He has been very emotional, especially as he has been made out as a role model and then has had to put up with this," he said.
"It's a bit of a kick in the guts for him.
"He has done some counselling to try and get things right."
Storm chief executive Brian Waldron has ruled out a shock Inglis return for Sunday's crunch clash against Manly, despite Monday night's 26-14 defeat to the Knights in Newcastle.
Gainey said Inglis had been working out in the gym and could return to full training this week.
The Storm on Wednesday said no decision had been made.

poor baby, does he want a cuddle?

Is that all you could come up with?

Sounds to me like Sally is struggling to deal with their separation.

And GI must be taking it hard too, with all the drama.

Hope he resumes training with the Storm asap, might help him take his mind off things.

Charmyne Palavi stirs the pot for the Greg Inglis affair

THE woman who featured on Four Corners earlier this year in the role of an NRL "cougar", dishing the dirt on league's groupie culture after the Matthew Johns scandal, had a go at the woman claiming to be the "other" girlfriend in Storm player Greg Inglis' life.
Charmyne Palavi criticised Kelley Cox for selling her story to a woman's magazine and creating more trouble for Inglis, who was this month charged by police with assault on his girlfriend Sally Robinson.

"She was never his girlfriend," Palavi said of Cox. "She and Greg were only together four times and you know how he met her? Another footballer, (Cowboys centre) Willie Tonga , had been out with her before and Greg was looking for a girl in Sydney, he told Willie and Willie gave Greg her number."

Palavi told Confidential Cox dated several footballers including Tigers star Benji Marshall. Marshall did not return our call yesterday. Or the day prior.

Calling herself a friend of Inglis, Palavi said Cox, who Confidential learned worked for Bombshells.com.au, a stripper and topless waitress agency, claimed to have been paid a big sum for the interview.

"We just can't believe she's come forward so quickly," said Palavi. The sum bandied about was $100,000.

Confidential understands Cox was paid much less than this by the magazine.

Cox told the magazine she had been involved with Inglis for the past two months and she and Inglis shared daily phone calls. She also said she would never have become involved with the football star had she known he was still with Robinson.

Palavi needs to make herself scarce immediately if not sooner. Who the hell is she to talk? I'm surprised NRL players still want to f**k her!

Not a chance. He's back in court on Tuesday (I think). If he plays again this season it won't be til the case is resolved.

Like evenflow said.... BS is a better chance of playing and even though he's been "ruled out" I'll bet he turns up!

Greg Inglis charges must fail, lawyer tells court
Article from: Herald Sun

Shelley Hadfield

August 26, 2009 12:37pm

CRIMINAL charges against Melbourne Storm star Greg Inglis must fail, his lawyer has told Sunshine Magistrates' Court.

Michael Croucher told Sunshine Magistrates’ Court today Inglis would be pleading not guilty.

Inglis, 22, is facing charges of intentionally causing injury and unlawful assault over an alleged attack on his girlfriend.

Mr Croucher said a second police statement from Inglis’s girlfriend Sally Robinson contained crucial information that exonerated him of the charges.

He said she had also confided in others the same information.

“The evidence that we are aware of that the police now have is there is no assault, rather Mr Inglis behaved as any right-thinking member of the community would have done – he protected her from harm,” Mr Croucher said.

He said had police been aware of this information initially there could have been no charges.

Mr Croucher said the fact Inglis did not give this information to police “reflects his compassion and decency and his respect for Ms Robinson’s privacy”.

He said it was plain the charges must fail given the statements and if police were not going to withdraw them he would ask that they go to a contest mention.
