I actually like between the lines, thought it was pretty good but obviously no one else did.

CHANNEL Nine's paid a reported $17 million to snatch Hamish Blake and Andy Lee from Channel Ten this year. Last night's Hamish & Andy's Gap Year, the first of ten shows they are producing for Nine, was their chance to deliver - and Nine's chance to break its comedy losing streak.
Gap Year was the duo's stab at a Tonight show. A very bad stab.

It really was radio with pictures - big on talk, short on laughs. The opening was painfully slow.
Thank heavens for a recorded segment on bare-handed fishing.
That was followed by a fun-but-shallow chat with music star Taylor Swift.
Another recorded segment - Blake and Lee falling asleep on a park bench, at a hot dog stand, in a cab - provided dumb laughs. After that, you could feel the wheels falling off with dodgy robots and tattoos.

When Hamish and Andy signed with Nine, the network was billing itself as "the home of comedy".
Things are different now that Ben Elton Live From Planet Earth, $#*! My Dad Says and Mike & Molly all crashed in the ratings.
If Hamish and Andy aren't careful, Gap Year could make it four for four.

Watched the last 5-10 minutes last night, only saw the Interview with Neil Patrick Harris and thought it was pretty cringe worthy

Didn't even bother watching it once got the jist from the ads and the preview stuff they were doing during the news of ACA which showed it was just a talk show.

I stand by my 3 weeks call. Stretch it out to the full 10 if they decide to run them late at night or something

The only time i've laughed at Channel Nein was when they claimed to be the home of comedy.

Hate commercial radio, so never listened to them there, but Hamish has his humerous moment on Spicks and Specks. Andy is just shite

i think they're hilarious, the show last night wasnt their best effort, the whole nph indiana jones thing was a bit of a miss in my opinion.

There's never been a better time for Tony Martin to save Channel Nine:

The Joy Of Sets is coming soon.

Dizzy stuff.

I'm sure you've all seen the ads pumping us all up about Hamish & andy's new show Gap Year.

Unsure of the premise, but basically looks like them cruising about the US poking fun at locals and being general PG-13 larrikins.

My question is, how many weeks from when it debuts to when its cancelled?

I give it 3 weeks myself

I'm surprised it hasn't already been pulled. Oxygen thieves of the highest order. They are just not amusing at all...just like most other Aussie "comedians"...

Channel 9 just can't seem to take a trick. They've lost the plot. Kerry would be turning in his grave.

I love listening to Hamish & Andy on the radio (although, as someone else has also said, I don't get much of a chance on a Friday arvo to do so), but they've never translated across to tv. I was wary when they announced that they were stepping back from radio to focus more on tv and other projects in 2011, simply because they just don't work that well on tv. I think they try too hard on tv. I've not watched all of their first 'Gap Year' episode yet, but yeah, it's not that good, is it?
