I see Daniel Jeremiah who works as a scout/analyst for the NFL network tweeted that he's seen his YouTube videos and thinks he could be an excellent punt/kick returner.

That's a great sign for him IMO...

I'd love to hear the opinion of some more scouts...

I know quite a few top level LU scouts who disagree.

I dont think anyone has ever doubted his abilities as a PR/KR. In fact most of have said that's where he's likely to make it. The trouble its pretty rare that you make rosters as a PR/KR specialist, you need to be able to contribute in other ways if you're trying to make the team primary as a returner. It remains to be seen if he can do that.

Are you seriously comparing Holmes to Hayne?

Holmes is a rare talent that comes along maybe once in our lifetime.
Like Lockyer, Joey and Thurston.

Hayne on the other hand cant even be called the greatest, because he has a player called Inglis to compare with, and Inglis is playing league, not on some crazy yanky mission to become a NFL player.

Compare Hayne to Burgess, both are wasting time in another sport that does not suit them, or their fans.
Maybe i am death-riding him.
These players are becoming "jack of all trades, master of none". To me they are wasting a career, not achieving any real goals.

Time to move on.
League starts toomoorow and my interest in Hayne will be less than zero.
I still think his next move will be union. We'll see.

Don't worry about Jarryd, when he only has to put in for 20 minutes, especially in a 3 hour boreathon like the NuFLers do he'll be in his element . . . been practicing his whole career

Your good  really good. Classic.
He should have been born a yank and he would be a Gridiron superstar by now, earning trillions.

Look dont get me wrong, i think American footy is eons ahead of our code and rugby union, and they are fully professional, while our code is still amatuer, trying to become professional.

I respect the fact the yanks are only throwing 100 thousand at him, not millions like union would do untried.

I respect the fact the yanks dont think he will even make the cut at 53 players. I mean the pillack head has never played the game or worn a helmet.

I also respect them that they even bothered to give him a game, because they have hundreds of millions of juniors to find the best talent.

Plenty of bumpable posts today for later in the year when Hayne makes the cut, keep em coming fellas

I especially love the armchair experts able to see that Hayne apparently is completely out of his depth and terrible based on a couple mins of watching him run drills. Strange that professional NFL franchises who were present during those drills got he exact opposite impression of him, to the point that several were offering deals. Including one club willing to offer a guaranteed salary during the pre-season.... Something we were assured by those same LU experts NEVER happens, meaning they obviously see Hayne as a very rare talent compared to the other squad guys they have on the books.

Danish,I've been an avid follower of U.S. Football for well over 30 years. Before the start of each season,I watch the combines,I see how the guys who are trying to impress the scouts.

You have to understand that the U.S. has a population of over 280 million.

You have to understand the kind of competitiveness coming from that population when it comes down to a professional sport, and it is fierce.

Hayne will not make a final cut.If anything,I bet Haynes $100,000 payment whilst he is over there is coming straight from his own pocket.

He simply wont be good enough.NFL fans in our site, have seen what I have seen in the practice drills AFTER they make the cut,and they are extremely impressive athletes.

And Hayne will not be good enough. This has nothing to do with website banter,or being envious of Hayne in pursuing a dream...albeit it simply is what it is,a dream.

An intelligent post.

Hayne is a pie eater. He should leave the hotdogs to the yanks.

He had the world at his feet in rugby league. He could have become the greatest Parramatta player ever.

He pissed it all against the wall for a hotdog, with fries.

We aint eating hotdogs Haynsey, we care about our exotic code, and players who can do amazing things.

We loved your Hayne Plane but you even let us down with that performance as well.

The kids were eating out of your hand and then you went ahead and let them all down, left the code.

Nobody gives a shite about you once you leave these shores, you have been replaced, by Hoppa and Valentine Holmes.

This is the most stupid and pointless debate ever. That anyone on social media wastes their time on this is an idiot. Why the f**k does Union get to own the word?

Americans aren't going to bother to learn the differences. It's all rugby to them.

How much money is he going to get if he succeeds as a special teams guy? 100 000 grand guaranteed, wtf is that?

Hayne was a massive success in league cos he has vision and can creates space. Those skills just don't translate to NFL. It's a shit game, a statistics driven game, a do what you're told game. Most of them don't even handle a ball ffs. It'll take him a few years to crack first grade and he is just too old.

If it doesn't work out I hope he comes back sooner rather than later and has the determination to achieve his potential in league, instead of running around in second gear.

And those scouts have seen something completely different to what you've seen in Hayne, given multiple clubs were offering him a deal while you believed him to be terrible.

I don't think NFL clubs partake in wasting their time and money on people who have no chance.

You have to understand that the U.S. has a population of over 280 million.

Their population is well over 300 million actually, and China and India have populations over 1 billion. Yet all 3 of them get their asses kicked by us in plenty of sports and not a one of them can hold a candle to the tiny island nation of Jamaica in producing athletes. What is your point?

Hayne will not make a final cut.If anything,I bet Haynes $100,000 payment whilst he is over there is coming straight from his own pocket.

You think Hayne is paying his own contract? The money which he listed as a primary reason for signing with the 49ers is fake eh? Why exactly do you think that?

Yes yes NFL players are all superhuman freaks that could be winning gold medals at the olympics or curing cancer with their 150 IQs but choose to play NFL. No mere mortal like Hayne could hold a candle to them

His combine stats (those things that you apparently watch every year. Do you honestly? Because most people who actually matter really don't put any weight into them) put him in the elite class of rookies. That is a fact. Multiple NFL scouts who unquestionably know more about the game than you do see something in him, enough to offer a 3 year contract and an (albeit small) guaranteed salary while he completes his pre-season training.

The only thing standing in Hayne's way of success is his age. Had he had the means to go across at 21 he'd have had a long career in the NFL, as would a dozen other players from the NRL if they'd done the same.

As opposed to League, who run around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off? Just mindless bashing & barging. A fair reflection of those who watch the game, tbh.
