This was the one i was hoping for, but i didnt think it would actually happen...

If he sticks around until retirement (i hope he does), Tits will get at least 5 years out of him.

This will be great for the Titans in attracting fans and good for Haynes reputation of he can get them at least close to the GF.

Doesn't the NRL own the Titans?

Yeh, my guess is that they offered to dipped into that discretion fund but only if he signed with the GC...

So did Hayne actively discuss with the Eels, or did he just sit back and accept the Titans offer?

Doesn't sound like their was any active communication between the Eels and Hayne.

Imagine the hype if the Titans not only made the finals but went into the 2nd week or even a semifinal

Is that a photochop with Scotty Prince's body?

Hahha - have you actually switched teams Hayneplane?

I have no problem with him playing this year. If NRL didn't get him now, he'd be gone to French rugby for who knows how long. If other teams can lure an off-contract mercenary who's good enough to play finals, have space in the cap and are willing to take the risk, then good luck to them.

He def won't be match fit, that's for sure. On the bench or on the wing maybe.

I believe it's an absolute farce to allow anyone to sign after June 30.

Has this ever happened before or is a convenient rule just brought in by the NRL to suit themselves.

The administration of the game atm is a joke....Greenberg, please explain!

I just went in the Titans section of this forum and there hasn't been a post in there since Lester Piggott was in his prime, this signing is a good thing for this dead club.

lol, most of us only post on reddit and an independent Titans forum so it's no surprise.

Hopefully next year, the Tits are inspired by Hayne profile and produce a jersey that isnt shit...

Just to be clear because it hasn't been said 100000000 times already.

The June 30 deadline only applies to transfers within Rugby League.

Any club, even Parra, can sign NFL or Rugby 7s players whenever they want.

As long as they are under the cap

Because a team could sit below the salary cap most the year and then pay guest players for grand final appearances, or finals, or the run in to finals. It is a method to circumvent the purpose of the salary cap, the same as how back ended contracts and players signing contracts below their market value is.

Seriously??? people need to get a grip.... how many NRL standard non rugby league registered players (Not just NRL, any rugby league comp) are just sitting on the sidelines waiting for the opportunity to slip into a Grand final quality team that is sitting under the salary cap just waiting for this opportunity. FMD do rugby league supporters actually think sometimes or is it just better to spew out shit.

How many elite athletes are waiting to sign "guest" contracts with NRL clubs who may or may not make the finals? One by my count and he's not currently an NRL registered player so how are the Titans rorting the cap?

Some people struggle with basic common sense...

Good luck to the Titans. This is a great signing for them and a tremendous addition to a team already playing very good football.

Chook.

Since Haynes dream has always been to represent Fiji no doubt we'll see him representing them next year at the world cup.
