Facebook comments from them American merkins are hilarious. Not aware we smash the f**k out off each other for 80 mins straight. He would be able to hand the physical side without a problem. Learning the game though is whats going to be his problem.

It's a different type of physical, it's a lot more power and less fitness, Hayne eluded to that himself.

And then you have the Aussies trying to say how good he is and post youtube links to his highlights

Exactly - a lot of really good players don't make the cut every year. There are only so many teams, a population of 300m.........do the math.

AFL players make it as punters because the way they kick the ball is suited to punting. Playing any other position without playing it all your life is a massive gamble.

He will be back in 2016.

Mate with the NFL season ending in Feb, my bet is he'll be back before the 2015 NRL season kicks off

Hayne is an awesome athlete but he is absolutely dreaming if he thinks he will make the cut over there.

Yes Hayne would love to make it in the NFL, but for mine its more about giving himself a chance of making it. At least now he wont be sitting back in about 10 years wondering what if.

I applaud him for trying and I hope he does make it.

So he's signed a lifetime deal with Parra...

So does that mean that Parra get first option on him if he comes back to the NRL??

Do Parra have any rights if he decides to play RU??

He will give it 12 months - go over now, it is too late. There is 3 months of the season left, he won't be on any practice squads or training squads. He will get to know the game more being over there but will have to learn in their offseason how it works, what position he will play and train with the aim to make the training roster of a team

You sure??? I thought he was interested in playing 7s at the Olympics...

I don't think playing Rugby for Australia is an attraction for anyone right now, including actual Wallabies players.

Knowing that we aren't even close to winning a World Cup next year, I suspect guys like Izzy etc are going to chase the cash in Europe very soon.

.Ultimately it's a very low risk life play with potential for big returns . At worst he gives it a shot for 2 years, even if nothing comes from it it'll be a different experience

Yeh, its real low risk giving up Millions for 2 years during your prime.

Parramatta Eels sign Reece Robinson as Hayne’s replacement

HE’S no Hayne Plane, but Parramatta have secured the services of former Brisbane and Canberra Raiders fullback Reece Robinson for the 2015 season.

The Eels formalised the deal with Robinson last weekend - prior to learning of the bombshell decision by Jarryd Hayne to quit the NRL to follow his dream of playing NFL in the US.

Signed as a utility outside back, Robinson will almost certainly be fast-tracked into the fullback position for the Eels in the wake of Hayne’s decision.

The Eels will also attempt to cover the loss of Hayne with the acquisition of South Sydney centre Beau Champion and English Super League outside back Ben Crooks next season.
