Hayne to the NFL???

I don't think playing Rugby for Australia is an attraction for anyone right now, including actual Wallabies players.

Knowing that we aren't even close to winning a World Cup next year, I suspect guys like Izzy etc are going to chase the cash in Europe very soon.
Ohhh yeah no doubt... But what I'm cynically getting at is could it be possible for Hayne to be using this NFL dream as a vehicle to get out of his NRL contract early to sign a more lucrative RU deal in Europe.

The presser made it obvious that Parra had rights if he comes back to the NRL,..

But do the Eels have any rights if he intends to go to RU??

Parramatta Eels sign Reece Robinson as Hayne’s replacement

HE’S no Hayne Plane, but Parramatta have secured the services of former Brisbane and Canberra Raiders fullback Reece Robinson for the 2015 season.

The Eels formalised the deal with Robinson last weekend - prior to learning of the bombshell decision by Jarryd Hayne to quit the NRL to follow his dream of playing NFL in the US.

Signed as a utility outside back, Robinson will almost certainly be fast-tracked into the fullback position for the Eels in the wake of Hayne’s decision.

The Eels will also attempt to cover the loss of Hayne with the acquisition of South Sydney centre Beau Champion and English Super League outside back Ben Crooks next season.

Yeah I find the fact that your paying Ricky Stuart a million dollars a season funnier...

Ballsy.

The number of guys born and raised on NFL, trained their whole life, know the ins and outs of the game, took their shot and... didn't make the cut is pretty f**king huge.

Hayne is probably coming at it with less than what they have, unless he's been secretly training for it for years, it'll take him a while just to get a grasp on it (if he does at all) let alone be a pro.

But like I said, ballsy.
only ballsy if you have something to lose. i imagine jarryd has made enough money from league to set himself up for life. why not try something else? like michael jordan. he acheived a lot, was multi talented, so tried something else.

if the story gets picked up in the US they will be showing clips of the NRL and talking about the game to an audience of millions, pretty good exposure for the NRL, even as a curiosity, imagine if he actually makes it over there!

He has to leave his friends and family behind to pursue a dream that may not even come true.

Pretty ballsy IMO.

I'm gutted, but wish him the best.

Hayne is well off no doubt, but to claim that 1M or so is not much to lose is just stupidity.

Comparing his wealth to Michael Jordan is like comparing my wage to the Telstra CEOs.

Hayne is gonna be a plodder in the NFL, be a special teamer at best

What a joke for the NRL that it's lost 3 of it's best 10 players to other sports in one off season, 2 of the top 3 in the Dally M voting have gone.

I suppose in the eyes of the mug Aussie fanboy just like SBW and Burgess, guys like Hayne grow on trees apparently and aren't missed, accept it NRL needs to make changes if they want to keep their stars in the game.

What would you suggest? The CEO has already said he will basically make them exempt from the cap, I am not sure what more he can do. It's hard to see how they could stop any of the three that left going.

Good luck to him, hope he carves it up and shows that the NFL is not full of super human beings, just men playing a sport.
