Just listened to the Hadley / Rothfield radio thing
Hadley is firmly in our corner on this one.

One betting agency has suspended betting on Origin over the ASADA probe.

Meanwhile, Gallen is not one of the suspects and is not a person of interest.

Got me farked why Origin betting has been suspended

Because as Hadley and Rothfield touched on, The Sharks aren't the only club that will be this heavily investigated. The other 5 clubs from the ACC report are up next.

This sort of an issue, especially if the club is not in the wrong, shouldn't just be supported by Sharks fans, it should be supported by Rugby League fans.

This is an issue that affects the game entirely, and in this case, has come about due to the pathetic practices of ASADA to keep on top of drugs in sport and new science and techniques being used. It took a whistleblower to give them a heads up. The fact they can say they've been investigating it for 12 months sounds like a massive cover for their ineptitude.

Ineptitude that was revealed by a former sports medicine scientist not too long ago.

Ineptitude that sees them using some pathetic form of blackmail to make themselves appear as though they are doing something and getting results.

Ineptitude that sees them contradicting their own code of practice:
Under Section 60 of the ACC Act 2002, the ACC and it's bodies cannot reveal the names of clubs and organisations during an investigation so as to protect a persons rights and reputational damage so as to ensure a fair trial, if one is required.

I find it interesting that two of Labor's worst weeks this year have been superceeded by ASADA's drugs in sport investigations.

If this shit happens again after another shit week of polling and headlines for Labor, I think it would be fair to say that it is no longer a coincidence and ASADA themselves should be subjected to an independent investigation.

Why Cronulla first? And how did the news get out? I understand that they don't have the manpower to do all the clubs simultaneously, but it seems pretty tough on the club to have to be the scapegoat and carry the burden of all the subsequent investigations on other clubs, who could prove to be much worse culprits than us (if we were at all.)

I can only make an ass of u and me and think this has only happened because of that redman dude saying take 6 now or risk further down the track.

I doubt you'll find other clubs listening to advice like that.

Probably the case. But that's just advice. No one has come forward and then received that advice it's just a blanket piece of advice for the 14 who were around when dank was.

For what it's worth a former shark who was there in 2011 thinks we will come out if this ok.

Why Cronulla first because we are known as soft target, but this has backfired.

We have known all along the refs hate us, NRL hates us, channel 9 hates us, most media hates us,

Now we know the federal Government hates each and every one of the sharks players and fans,so now finally we have the ammo we have always wanted, the siege mentatlity we have always wanted and this year we are going to rip apart each and everyone that gets in our path, and take the title then Gallen can give the greatest spray in his speech and Paul dont miss anyone

.

You call this a bad week for Labor.... do the right thing and get your arse over to the Qantas thread.

There are enough Tory farkwitts making claims in here.

Have a look south of the Murray, north of the Tweed, and over in NT. Worst week for Labor my arse.

I agree about the Sharks being a soft target. Only wants me want to scream my guts out even more in support of the team when they run out on Sunday.

Dear oh dear oh dear oh dear.

The federal government doesn't hate you ffs, they couldn't give a f**k about any sporting club really.

Lets hope it's nothing too bad and the few that have done the crime do the time.

As others have said, hold firm lads. Siege mentality, plead the 5th, whatever.

Give em nothing and let them have a crack. If, and only if, we are presented with cold hard facts then squeal like pigs boys and take down the whole fecking league with us.

Seriously, if it is high profile players then the dirt they will most probably have from rep camps etc will be sensational.

Feck em all and bring on Sunday bitches.

Smart operators in all walks of life know that a crisis is an ideal opportunity to make changes .Even changes that dont relate to the crisis.
They also know that any changes they can get through while the gates are open will be difficult to undo.

The NRL has known this crisis was coming and strangely we find all the guns aimed at Cronulla NOW.Other more obvious contenders to be in the spotlight now arent even rating a mention in the media .
NOW is also the time for Sharks to let everyone know they will not be the scapegoat in this, not just sit back and assume the others will be held to same scrutiny eventually. .

Yeah that's what I reckon. I found it unlikely that is just so happened that the only people taking these drugs were the 14 players that currently remain with us. Disgraceful how this has been handled

  • The Govt gives a F**k about anything that
  1. Earns revenue for the govt ,
  2. influences peoples atitudes ,
  3. or can be used as a distraction for their own operations .
To beleive otherwise is quite naive

This might be better to get out of the way now, over and done with... As long as it's not Graham and Gallen i can live with it.... Then they can move on to other clubs mid season!!

Such a bad thing not just for the Sharks but for sport in general......

They should be investigating our disgraceful govt and Gillard thats the biggest blight on our country!!
