I honestly think we're lucky Jeremy Smith doesn't play for us anymore - in the current climate I reckon he would probably kill someone Sunday night.

So there were 14 players from the 2011 Sharks NRL side that are still with the club in 2013.

If Gallen is all clear, as suggested by the media, then who is the elusive extra player?

Or is it all bullshit?

God I really hope that nothing comes of all this and then ASADA and the f**king merkins with microphones can all be lambasted for their pathetic work

Fairfax Media has been told Sharks players were given Thymosin Beta 4 and CJC-1295 peptides during the 2011 season.

It is understood the products were not on the World Anti-Doping Agency's banned list at the time but both were included in the Australian Crime Commission report into doping and match fixing under the heading "Performance and Image Enhancing Substances".

This has been well documented on here in other threads...

The threat of legal action means ASADA's lawyers would advise the players did not break any law.

okay...who's next?

The fact that ASADA are offering a 'plea deal' means they have nothing, plea bargains are a great way to get the innocent to take a lesser hit rather than risk getting screwed by a bad process, it turns it from a guilty/innocent question into a risk management exercise for the individual.

If ASADA had evidence, it would be on the table now. re the "whistleblower", call me a tad cynical but he is employed by one of the Sharks direct competitors, if a guy employed by Coca Cola says Pepsi is full of dog turds you want an extraordinary level of evidence before you start throwing accusations around.

Either they took banned substances and face a 2 year ban, or they didn't.
You can't retroactively apply a law.

This six month shit is to try and justify this embarrassing report the government pumped millions into and came up relatively empty handed.

6 months screams - we can't actually do anything that proves you took banned substances.

Fingers crossed guys.

So is it true that Redman has actually told the players to choose between 6 months or 2 years? I mean not an "if he seen evidence that some players will have issues then he would then tell them this is their options". Has he actually told players to take the 6 months? If he has then I would assume he has seen the evidence which is scary.

I just can't find a press release or story quoting him to have spoken to x amount of players and that he has advised them to plead now. I'm playing catch up here and the more I dig and read the more conflicting bullshit I see.

Very concerned, and hoping this is just a combination of political bullshit and a flock of headless chooks that call themselves journos running rampart in our back yard. If so, get the farkin hose on em.

EDIT: Holy crap this thread updates quickly.

It got as high as 22 earlier today.

I agree I do not understand the issue. I'm guessing on going use? I wish someone would say what they are looking at them at besides drug tests they passed when it wasn't banned.

I'm hearing the true number is 6 and Gall is not involved. They refused the 6 month deal as they said they were unaware it was illegal. Source Asada whistleblower :) may not be as bad as I thougt. Except if they were unaware they will probably have a case against the club.
