two can play at that game, maybe its that channel 9 and a large contingient of the sydeny media have an agenda to push, an agenda to see the Central Coast admitted to the NRL, to over-crowd an already over populated sydney league market. Maybe they see canberra as the easiest target to single out. Maybe all this talk of "informed" people saying our future is not secure is again part of a push to see us excluded and the CC introduced. Which of course has been completed trumped by Don Furner Snr in recent weeks

Maybe Eddie McGuire sees canberra as the most vunrable to an AFL take over, since they sure as hell arnt winning the QLD or NSW battle, maybe he thinks a foothole in canberra is a stage to launch a better assult on nsw... maybe McGuire underestimates the how popular league is in the canberra and its outter regions.

Maybe Don Furner snr ran over some high up Channel 9 exec's dog? maybe there is a fear if canberra are given FTA coverage the whole world will cave in on itself, or worse, we may start growing our fan base at a rate of knots and LU suffers an influx of arrogent, biased and unwavering raiders fans like myself!?
Maybe bin laden is involved, its all relative to a 9/11 conspiracy!

Ok lets forget the Raiders for a second, what about the Warriors? 0 games even though they've won their first 2 smashing the eels and giving it to last years premiers.
Do they play boring footy? No, big hits and plenty of open attack.
The Cowboys apparently having 1 in the first 9 rounds? Probably the most entertaining side in the opening rounds. Ridiculous.

Exactly what i am saying. Peoples opinions of canberras play doesn't change overnight. How long did it take the Cowboys before they started getting recignition on 9? And after 1 ordinary year they are back at square 1.

Face it, the world is not against canberra, they are 0-2, they don't deserve to be on FTA tv.

If they play exciting footy, and get a coupple of wins and they aren't on 9, then you have the right to raise the question.

If any team deserve to have a whinge it is the Warriors who will get on FTA later in the year. The one thing counting against teh Warriors is the time difference. For instance, a 7:30 game over there is 5:30 here. For that to be a viable FTA game that would have to start at 9:30 over there. Not sure how the weather is over there as it gets into the night. But I do think you will get a few Warriors games when they are playing away- Dragons, Tigers, Manly, etc.

Lets get realisitc, Fans want to see hard matches with big names. The fact that Raiders don't have a big name in their whole team would lessen ratings on logic. Raiders don't have a reputation of the powerhouse, more the cellar dwellers despite where they finished last night.
Automatically you throw in a team like Canberra and they hype dies down.

no they dont, ive already said that earlier, for me this isnt about right now, but years and years of dud treatment by 9... you could start this thread after we have gone through a winless season conceeding 100 points a game and id still argue for the raiders for wrongs done in the past the potential for them to be repeated in the future

bah this i bloody pointless, we can now assume based on this thread, that no one has any reason other then ill informed assumptions, to believe that canberra dont rate on FTA, so one can only conclude that once we win games and start playing a more attractive brand of footy (of which both will be occuring at sooner then you all think) we will feature on channel 9... when this DOES NOT happen ill happily revisit this topic to see what other excuses you lot can come up with
