How many tries did Wesser score?
Now how many tries did Rooney score?
Rooney didn't get a lot of ball to him, I agree with that, I've said that a number of times....however, how many times did he go LOOKING for it. How many times did Mick Gordon get starved, then he went LOOKING for work...answer...alot.
Wesser may be on a lot of peanuts, but he deserves it, if i'm correct he came second or third in NRL top tryscorers this season did he not...and won games for us we wern't entitled to win.
Secondly, I agree with your sports phychologist thing. If you remember me saying also that the players this off-season should work on one thing and that is fitness...I think you remember me saying that...so definately I agree with you there.
But sports phychology and telling players lies about how good their performances are...are two different things.
Having my brother as an elite sportsman and knowing a fair few first graders who go to sports phychologists regularly...it isn't about inflating their ego's like what your alluding too with not telling Clinton how it is in reality.
A sports phychologist aims to put the players in a frame of mind in which they want to excel and do their best. Sometimes a few home truths is a part of that process. This position means making the players set goals for themselves and giving them the self belief in order to achieve them. It is a position which requires the players know where they have done wrong, identify their faults and work through them accordingly.
Now i'm sure Elliot didn't just say "where have you been for two years"...i'm pretty sure starting today...that Elliot will have identified which players havn't been putting in, where our strengths lie, where we wern't utilising our strengths last year..i.e. Rooney's ability under the high ball.
Elliot will have structured regimes both for the team as a whole and individuals. For example, I am sure Elliot will have Ryan Girdler on board teaching Michael Jennings and other young backs how to be ellusive with ball in hand. Not only kicking coach.
Matt Adamson will probably be working with our forwards, hopefully instilling a bit of mongral into them.
So while you may say i'm wrong Dave, you are entitled to that, but you need to understand what exactly sports phychology entails with regards to these types of professional athletes. Their ego's are inflated enough, and in some cases too inflated. All athletes need to be grounded at all times to achieve best results. They can't be smashed into the ground, or inflated too high...that is the job of the sports phychologist....to keep them at a mental state of premium performance. Sounds like a car ad....and VALVOLINE...ah bad joke.

Thank God for that.
Nice one Big Mick..
Rooney spends the entire year with his hands in his pockets after being starved of the ball and he gets the blame. Pull the other leg!
Wesser as consistent? Thats a laugh. Dont tell me he's earning peanuts either.
The key to this mob is through careful, focused, thoroughly thought-out fitness and mental programs tailored to suit their individual needs.
The old days of the last bloke back from the run does it again, is well and truly over.
Youd be wanting to start your own HPU (make adamson a tackle dummy-that would help).
Now pass me another marshmallow Big Mick, I choked on the last one after reading your last post!!
Cheers everyone.
