I can't fathom why he would even consider sending that side out there on Sunday.

If it happens we're screwed.

How the hell does Wicks get in and White gets dropped????? That is crap, no way does he deserve to be in the side ahead of White or Taufua.

So we win 3 in a row for the first time in 2 years and this is how those guys get repaid???

That's f*cked.

I do agree with Karma to a large extent.

I can't see us being at the top of the ladder with Dureau at 7. Not unless he improves tenfold.

Unfortunately I just don't see an alternative at this stage.

This is what worries me. At least this year without him we have Buderus and Gidley to carry the load.

What the hell do we do next year if he isn't being considered our full time halfback?

Houston I believe

When Houston gets named at five-eighth, it actually means Gids plays there in attack. They can't name him in 2 positions. We scored a heap of points against Souths and Parra with this formation.

I have grave concerns for Karma. I have noted that many people suggest that he is obsessed with Dureau and given the nature of this post it is quiety obvious he is.

It's apparent that Karma has not realised that those who like Dureau will continue to like him no matter what he posts, alas he continues his ranting like the lunatic who escaped from the asylum.

I am about to read the current legislation in NSW related to stalking. If its possible to stalk someone from the internet with continual rantings then Karma is in big trouble...... lol

I don't see how it will be a weaker side than what we've fielded recently. Except perhaps defensively in the outside backs (if Wes isn't ready to come in for Doogs).

The halves don't worry me. Gids was brilliant at 5/8th against Souths, and we'd scored 4 tries against Parra before Scotty got a run.

As for the forwards, Smith said at the press conference that Taufua would have been in the 17 on form. (His partner is expecting.) I don't know why Wicks gets a run ahead of White. But getting Cross and Royal back more than makes up for it imho.

I hope I'm wrong.... Its just I'd feel more confident about the game if we had the team that played over the last few games.

 it's been a fun year. Warning, opinion follows.

For the record, I like the way our attack looks when we've got Dureau and Mullen on the field. I like it because the ball is moved around with a bit of purpose as opposed to the accursed one-out nonsense we were stuck with for much of last year.

It's a shame that Dureau isn't the type to back himself in flashy individual efforts, because everyone loves a quick-stepping chip and chaser. Easier to justify the selection of such a player too, because it's undeniably sexy - but problem is there's plenty of nippy halves that soon enough lose the impact of their speed or step and get shown up for having little other substance.

Again, I'm very happy to see the Knights exploring the field in attack, and that sentiment is increasingly echoed by several commentators. This week's game was billed as a clash of two of the most entertaining sides in the competition. People seem to like how we play, so we've got to be doing something right. In my *opinion* we lacked that attractive structure when we were stuck with Bailey and Mullen in the halves. Now maybe that combination would be smoother now that Kidley is being used as he is, but I won't suggest something I can't know.

I don't think Dureau is capable of going nuts on his own like Thurston used to. But it looks like something works when he's on the field, and the players in particular seem to respond to it. Unfortunately though his worth is now judged on a game to game basis, so everything he does will fuel the bias on either side, and no player can stand up to that. Most players would be out on their arse midway through their first season, in fact.

My point is, laboured as it may be, I find it easier to like Dureau because I'd missed seeing our team move around like a team more than I'd missed a first receiver preoccupied with being a hero. And in my opinion, Dureau appears to be influencing the former.

Now, if it isn't Dureau at half, I still want to see that kind of player in the position. Dureau needs to add a lot to his performances, for instance I'd like to see some better options at the line and sometimes some unpredictability of his own, but for mine it's better than a patch job like Kidley at halfback. I still want our team to move in this direction because I feel the balance is the best thing for such a young and relatively new and inexperienced group. At the very least, I don't want to throw him to the dogs just yet.

The other thing that can't be ignored is, Hitler didn't rate Dureau.

This is just conjecture, but maybe we wanna keep him out of the spotlight to try and get him re-signed cheaply..... Who knows really.

Another day, another thread about Dureau by Karma...yawn
Yeah, is there a time to get over it?

I mean Smith has picked Wicks over White this weekend if the reports are correct.

Everyone sees that shouldnt happen.

As for the Raiders game alone i'm happy for Dureau to not atleast start the match. I thought his defense was poor on Monday. And the Raiders would have a field day with him.

Am i the only person who remembers that Scott injured his knee v the Titans?

Not that that matters.
Smith has a lot of options due to Kidley being so versatile, and if he chooses to go without Scott for this game all it means is he thinks defence is the key against the Raiders - although i don't know how putting Wicks in the side works with a strong defensive side.

Yeah I posted the same thing somewhere else Roops...I'd say that plus the gameplan Smithy has in mind (knowing him) has pushed Scotty out of the lineup for this one.

Perhaps it's not just D, but sheer physicality in both attack and defence. If you listen to the media conference Smith asserts that Penrith got dominated in this regard and that that sunk them more than the Raiders' razzle-dazzle. Or at least it's what opened the floodgates.

If the reports are true that Cross, Royal and Wicks are all in, then I can well imagine Smith going with the 7 forwards plan. He may want all the returning big boppers to play, but that's at least three guys who may have limited minutes in them. Cross and Royal because they're resuming from injury; and Wicks because he's Wicks (all 125kg of him)--and yes returning from injured too although the trainers may not have noticed any difference.
