When i moved up to the $100 SnGs the difference was just enormous. And it was a great feeling, too. My re-reraises (not that there were alot) had my opponents folding rather than going all-in and sucking out. But more than that you start to act and think like a real poker player. As in i put everything into it.I understand that.
But not all the all-ins are for all my chips. I am certainly winning more often than losing simply because I am a tight aggressive player so when I do go all-in it's generally wih a premium hand. It's just that there comes a time when it really does get predictable.
Also, in the micros I play it pays to isolate the other player by going all-in. That works later in the tourneys but not early. Push all-in with Aces and you're liable to have 4 callers.
I know what I need to do, I need to get out of the micros and up to another level, but I have to be patient and build my BR in the micros to do that because it'll be a cold day in hell when I put my own money in it again.
I've started playing 25 cent 90's and 45's with some success. geniused early but they tend to settle down inside 1/2 an hour.
When i played the micro SnGs i knew i was up against alot of nuffies who did crazy things and sucked out often. Also the fact that i'd have to play for 4 hours many times only for <$50 would take its toll.
So instead of playing alot of cheapish SnGs id build up my account playing H2H with the goal of playing the odd more worthwile SnG. And playing against primarily good players with a big prize pool really brings the best out of you.
Unfortunately though it turns out that playing larger stakes is a two way thing...You can win more money but also lose more as well!
And now its got to the point where i simply cant be bothered slaving away with a small amount, trying to build it up just so i can play in tournys like the Sunday Millions....
