I know that is tongue in cheek, but I am serious. Plus two different things dude.

What is to stop all players showing up to Newtown Leagues and having lunch with the Newtown lads, every Wednesday, with Shane invited.

Clearly emailing instructions is forbidden, can he not talk to players?

Serious question.
Seriously... there are other friggin options man

You know there are forensic tools that auditors have access to that look for deleted stuff right?
Throw every damn back up and hard drive from the server in the bin. Get a new mainframe and start all over again. Barry should of just done that, thrown the past in the bin and moved forward.
Problem is, they cant afford it, and obviously not a single IT brain cell in the joint.
I know businesses like to have a time frame on keeping business receipts shit. But emails, nah, the IT guys clean that shit up yearly to keep the network unclogged.
Using laptops from 4 years ago possibly??hahaha
Something really fishy about the whole thing.

You have to take a step back sometimes and look at tfe positives.

For example, we won’t have to listen to that f**king sucking sound from his big teeth in the coaches pressers anymore.

See, can always find some positive

So apparently Flanagan had the opportunity to talk to the NRL and he declined.
Yeah, he knew he was rooted.

Probably his smartest move in all this.

If he plans on fighting it then shut up and let your lawyers do the talking.

Either way though snotting Greenberg wouldn't help him so best to avoid temptation.

So what? If he hid what he found, he is no better than the shonks the club has had in the past.

Why look for trouble? You're the 2018 CEO, worry about now and go get us some f**king sponsors.

Why hasn't anybody posted the obvious? Flanagan was banned for 1 year. By not being able to buy players for 2015 effectively banned him for 2 years
He was always under contract for 2015 during his suspension.

The most alarming thing in the thread is actually the Pissflap fanboys who are displaying the same amoral attitude that he has.

When you support lack of integrity there are serious questions to be asked about your own integrity.

I have a dim view of all the blinkered apologists displaying their butthurt by defending the indefensible

Flanagan farged up, no question about it. I don’t pretend to know the details but he is clearly in the wrong. To a certain extent I agree he deserves to be punted but I also struggle with the concept of a ban that prevents a coach from doing any future planning. There is a reason Bennett and Siebold have swapped clubs.

But Barry has stuffed up big time, if he found Flanno had done the wrong thing then sack him. Don’t expose the sharks to the risk of a $800k fine by opening up to the NRL. He has completely mismanaged this from the start. It should have been dealt with in house, f**k the NRL.

Might not have been discovered initially through an IT type search. Although they are saying that now, the initial leak may have been a little birdy wording up the media. They run a story, the NRL are then compelled to investigate further and all of a sudden some evidence emerges that only a very few knew of. Maybe BR was caught unwares as well.

NRL prepared to take over Sharks
DECEMBER 20, 2018
The NRL has held private talks at the highest level about contingency plans should the Cronulla Sharks collapse financially.

Despite assurances from Cronulla of their long-term fiscal viability, it can be revealed that, if the Sharks went broke over the ongoing Shane Flanagan saga and salary cap investigation, the NRL would immediately take over the club.

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg has previously insisted the league will no longer prop up faltering clubs, however the game cannot risk Cronulla falling into insolvency without having a back-up plan in place.

While acknowledging the Sharks will almost certainly bounce back financially, should the governing body assume control of the Sharks the club would be open to relocation, possibly to Brisbane or Perth.

Cronulla’s financial plight deepened this week when the NRL proposed an $800,000 fine after Sharks coach Shane Flanagan contacted staff multiple times while suspended in 2014 for the supplements scandal.

The NRL’s salary cap investigation into alleged indiscretions at Cronulla is due to be completed early next year. Any further financial fine could severely damage Cronulla’s chances of survival.

The Sharks are currently without a sponsor for the front, back or sleeve of their playing strip.

Both the ARL Commission and NRL executive have spoken internally about the possibility of taking over the licence should the Sharks collapse.

Cronulla though are adamant they will push through their current crisis and remain in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

There are two looming financial injections that will assist Cronulla in the short and long-term.

It is understood the club has moved into a stronger financial position over the past week, a development Cronulla hope will end further speculation about possible insolvency.

Former director Craig Airey, who stepped down from the Cronulla board in October, is understood to be helping with efforts to attract financial assistance. He had been a board member since April, 2013.

Airey, who is close to Flanagan, owns an electrical business and has previously helped Cronulla out financially.

It is understood the club may receive a further cash injection through the next stage in their Woolooware Bay development, based next to Shark Park.

That money, which could arrive in the next few days, would alleviate enormous pressure on the cash-strapped club. Some are suggesting the amount could be as much as $8 million.

The NRL has been closely monitoring the Cronulla situation given the rich broadcasting contract states there must be eight games each round.

Just last week the ARL Commission asked that the NRL submit a detailed analysis about the benefits and disadvantages of relocation and expansion.

That report should be completed in 12 months.

Should a team be added through the demise of an existing club, a second Brisbane club would appear to be narrowly ahead of a Perth bid. The struggling North Sydney Bears are no chance.

Meanwhile, plans to transform Cronulla Leagues Club into a town centre have been submitted to Sutherland Shire Council.

It is understood the proposal — worth $234 million — would be mix of residential and commercial development.Under the plan, part of the existing leagues club would need to be demolished.

This bit here in the article above is what I posted up a few days ago .... re the Peter "Cronulla Marlins" Beattie mentioned in a News report broadcasted on the ABC radio news up here.

":Just last week the ARL Commission asked that the NRL submit a detailed analysis about the benefits and disadvantages of relocation and expansion.

That report should be completed in 12 months."

In the same interview Beattie mentioned the words "it might even be a geographical decision".

Remember the Sharky girls and Souffs were not allowed into the inaugural womens four team comp for "geographical reasons"

I tell you, these quigs are out to get us. It is a plain as the nose on your face.
