Catching an uncontested high kick? Both as likely to catch it as the other. Contested kick? Safe Bill's usually lucky to get a hand on it as he gets out jumped by more athletic opponents.

Tupou is bad under the high ball in general, I still don't think he has scored a try from going up and getting a cross field bomb. Which is pretty bad for a winger in around 40 games of FG. And defensively he gets out jumped, and then just straight up drops uncontested bombs.

I still maintain that Inu is worth at least one try a game from high kicks, either he'll score/set one up of a bomb or he'll defuse a few tough bombs.

To see inus talents just go on you tube and watch highlights of that 09 run at parra and even back in 05-07 for us he did freakish stuff

Showed that raw talent and instinct against roosters with his quick pass to Pritchard.

I remember in the 09 final against dogs where he grabbed a pass but juggled it and the ball was practically in Morris' hands but Inu managed to snag it and pass to Burt to score.

In fact I'm going to watch that game right now

I really miss Inu at parra

Fair point, Bill isn't safe under a high ball either, but in most situations you can rely on him more than Manu (ATM). Manus been well and truely found out, and is now targeted. Honestly, who doesn't cringe when the balls heading Manus way, and go, "**** here we go..."

Not I, Manu catches a he'll of a lot more bombs than he drops and has done so for quite some time now. I'm more prone to hold my breath with Manu when someone grubbers towards him or the ball goes through the opposition hands in his direction in an expansive move, although less so now with Henry inside him rather than JRo.

When he got his first tries in first grade (hat-trick against Cronulla), one high ball bounced straight off his head. He is dreadful under the high ball. Rest of his game is very good IMO, but I can't believe more teams don't test out his high ball skills. Some NRL coaches must be real dopes not to be onto it already.

But if he dropped 1/4 of them, they give him possesion on the other 3/4s and thats downright dangerous.

Love to see him in a position where he didnt have to catch bombs or turn and chase.

Theres only 1 Direction for Manu and thats straight ahead.

Its not just the high balls -he seems to fumble balls along the ground too.

I rate him though - he carries the ball well early in our sets. He's a big improvement on Denan Kemp.

Tupou's two key skills are his solid metres from his ducking and weaving dummy half runs and his finishing ability. Outside of that he seems to be quite a below par winger. Sure he's an improvement on Kemp but he's a huge downgrade on Inu.

Oh for sure, that's what I meant- Not necessarily bombs, just ball skills in general

I would cut Tupou some slack - the kid is only 21....... Manu is a seasoned veteran, you would expect more from him....

Topou can't create something from nothing, but I'd still have him as my first choice winger with Manu. Inu should have been in the centres.

And, tbh, is he really worth being the highest paid player at the club?:? When he's good, he can be very good, but if bad, he is dreadful. I dunno really, always liked him as a player, and you can't fault him as a person...huge heart...but it just seems that asset/liability scale is tipping more to the negative side...

This same argument has been had at least 5-6 times through his career. He's not going anywhere, he's gonna always be a Bluey favourite.

Because of a bad last game? I'd say the overall scale is still massively in the asset side.
Dunno if he should be the highest paid player though, he probably should be making the most money through 3rd party deals/endorsments and the like due to his popularity/persona but in terms of importance in the game plan and influence on the outcome of the game he probably doesn't warrant being highest paid.

Hope The Beast has a blinder on Sunday! I'm tired of bagging him, even if I can't shake the nerves about his general play.

It looks to be the free Sunday arvo game on Nine, the first time a non-Sydney team has had this slot for a while! It will bring back a few memories of that Sunday arvo game between the same sides in 2008!*

*Four years later...what was Witt thinking? Just dive over the line, for god's sake mate, please.
