It's time to consider his state of mind . . . rehab is the way out for both parties
Nah, you guys should have to suffer through 3-5 years of him. Payback for being so dumb as to pursue him in the first place.

Hahaha. That might be ol' Rick's next caper, car salesman.
But then after a crap year of sales he'd march up to the boss and let him know there's no way he can make any sales until he gets a few prestige European models in the yard. Never mind that he can't shift the Datson 120Y for a fiver.
haha
I imagine Ricky as Gil when trying to sign players.
:lol:Sticky: Go ahead, sign on the dotted line, this weather is delightful. Except for winter, it gets so cold here, you'll freeze your nuts off ... aw, I shouldn't have said that ... aw, Sticky.
Proctor: Hey, that's a lot of zeros, i should sign this, right?
Stuart: Well, if you, well ... really? Wow, Hot, hot dog! I got one!
Bellemy: I'll take it from here, Sticky.
Stuart: No, wait, no. Aw, you can't take my signing. My wife's going to leave me if I don't start bringing in the green. Come on, let me have this one, Craig, I'm begging you. Look at me, I'm begging you, Craig.
Bellemy: Mm-hm. Let's go write this up, shall we?
Stuart: [pulls a rotary-dial cell phone from his jacket, and dials] Honey, you should have seen me with my last player, I ... no, but I came so close. This guy was as ... Whose voice is that?

The only success he has ever had, has been playing with a team full of blue chip cattle at the tri-colours thanks to the 3rd party brown paper bags going under the tables, and pretty boy modern day players that are happier sipping latte and rubbing styling gel through the head hair whilst shaving the arm and leg hair so it doesn't distort their ink work. But I digress..........

Any team led on the field by Brad Fittler in his prime hardly needed much coaching
Had the salary cap cheating Bulldogs not been caught out he might not gave ever won a Premiership
lol if the dogs hadn't been cheating the cap then their side wouldn't be nearly as good. A strange point to make.
well yeah. because not only would the doggies have been there but also its probable that johns dosnt get knbeed in the back and out of the knights team.
so those were two huge variables in the comp that year that went stuarts way.
I'm an avid Stuart disliker but despite all this stuff I think he did have a lot of impact at the Roosters. My memory is that they took their game to another level in 2002. Their forwards were brutal and aggressive and they really step-changed the game to some extent with fast line-speed, gang-tackling etc. And yes it would have helped to have a Brad Fitler there to add class to a good pack.
I guess he has been good at getting good performances out of quality sides like the Roosters and 2005 NSW. He would have probably been a natural at first with his success as a player and his intensity.
He just has NFI how to work with an average side and melts down when it doesn't go his way
He is a finisher, not a builder
I've said before I reckon he'd win the comp with Souths this year because his style is highly effective for that hungry team, close to the top. He can bring a toughness and attitude to a side like that that can help them get over the top (small point of order, I don't think they need it because I think Madge has them primed for this years premiership), and when teams are winning they can hate him and his style but rationalise it by saying "hey, it gets results"
But he can't build, the message rings hallow after a 2 years, much sooner if you aren't winning.
Can't doubt his passion and desire to win, that can rub off on a team lacking the killer instinct to go to the next level, but as we have seen time and time again, it doesn't work for rebuilding teams
