I'm sure they feel disappointed, but as a Kiwis fan who wants to see us win the WC I don't really care in the grand scheme of it all. Obviously it would have been better if it didn't happened that way but the right result ended up taking the place.

Once again i do find it funny how everything you do related to Williams is counterproductive to what you supposedly want. That is why he is such a big name I spose.

Tell ya what Ed, if you can't beat em, join em I say. Might do some SBW paintings and cash in myself;-)

I'll give you 10 bucks for a painting of him wearing an All Blacks jersey and boxing gloves standing on top of a mountain of 100 NRL players holding the World Cup aloft! That'd sell alright

I don't think I've tried to defend how he went about it, he screwed it up. I just focused more on the fact that we are going to have our best player playing at the biggest tournament for the Kiwis rather than get to tied up on how it happened.

I didn't think Forans involvement was ever in doubt?

:lol:Indeed! But get with the program and write 'Ess Bee Doubya' on your pencil case and show your loyalty!;-)

That's weak bro. I've already planned my 'Ess Bee Dub 4 Life 4 Realz' tattoo design. It's gonna be killer!

League needs him ?

League didn't miss a beat when Meninga, Fittler, Johns, Lockyer etc retired and when SBW flies the coup again it will continue to go on with a new set of superstars

Rugby seemed to cope ok with the loss of Lomu, who was a global superstar, not just in this pocket of the world

Couldn't agree more. The cemetary is full of men we can't do without! Union in NZ survived George Nepia's defection to League, and Oz Rugby the countless conversions to the great game (unfortunately).

SBW will shoot off back to yawnion next year and we will continue to be the superior sport in Australasia.

The difference nowadays is the "cult of the celebrity". Wish we had a "cult of the hard working grafter and loyal individual." But no such luck.

No, you are right - Not anymore; he retired from playing last year.

I saw the headline 'Snake in the Kiwi Dressing room' last night on the news.

I thought that's a bit rough...he mucked people around a bit but has agreed to play now;-)

He wont, Parker would kill him...

I'd say the title will be stripped which is preferable to being beaten ?

He can still claim to be a NZ heavyweight champ..

Unless he commits 100% of his time to boxing, I doubt he could go any further in the sport.. So no point fighting someone that he knows will most likely beat him. Everything to lose, nothing to gain (except money but we all know he won't be desperate for that).

Yeah, he's certainly a very good celebrity boxer- he might be able to evolve into a decent pro boxer but at this stage that's untested...and not something you'd just dabble at

On one level I'd love to see SBW fight Parker, however I don't understand how anyone can honestly think that SBW "should" take that fight. It would be idiotic.

I'd love for SBW to be a regular boxer but I like him in league more. As much as he tries, you can't lead 3 lives at once.

Yeah that probably is his major issue, short of cloning himself. I would be interested in seeing him devote serious time to boxing in a few years, and see how he does. Ultimately all joking aside he does well in the various codes, but League is the standout code really

You need players who are bigger than the game- especially in the UK for this world cup! It's the only way it'll generate press coverage- more than half the country don't even know it starts next week.

It's a fair point, anything that promotes the game and this tourno has to be positive
