He showed all his experience tonight, his kicking was brilliant. The 40 / 20 and chip for waqa couldn’t have been better and he slowed the game down when the cowboys were looking to get going with some great touch finders. The field goal was also top notch.
All the wobbly misdirected passes of the last few games were gone and we were left with exactly what we paid for, a champion half.
The tackles he put on Hess were just crazy for someone thought of as a bad defender.

When we had Cleary in the side I think Maloney was happy just to play a supporting roll. He just let Nathan be the boss. Last night he stepped up. He was helped by our forwards who were brutal in defense.
Hope it continues.

Im yet to see Cleary take a game as big as that and do what maloney did tonight.
Ive seen him look calm and steer the team around and a nice kicking game. He reminds me of Mitchel Pearce style. And quality wise he isnt far off as of now.

Maloney was solid against the dogs. Clearys pass to Morris cost the game.

Sure Cleary is young and has more potential but please.


And on the cowboys they played 3 of the top 5 teams from last season. Could of won all 3. I dont see your negativity Mx legend.

You say the club never beats a top side then when they are 4-1 outsiders and win by 20 points you still find a way to make it not that great.

Maloney was fantastic last night. His game management was exceptional. I hope a balance can be found when Cleary is back so both can play to their strengths. It certainly helps when the pack is in beast mode as they were last night.

Maloney in defence forced errors which was particularly outstanding. He more than earnt his paycheck last night.

Maloney looks better when he leads this team. And as a result the team looks better too. Cleary needs to take a back seat role.
