I'm not upset, I think you are hilarious. I have not criticised him personally, my original post was that he didn't credit himself at all, which I find strange.

Nope, not offended or cranky, very amused at fictional character loving people is all and enjoying antagonising the blind love.

I knew this was coming when I posted my first post about it. My only point was that he didn't credit himself, which he really should because he did the seemingly impossible. I'm not saying he should have said how wonderful he is or be big headed, just acknowledge how hard you worked.

Just remember, it's all in gods plan, ALL OF IT

Firstly, I'm no God lover - OK? So don't start that caper. It however, is clear, that you don't understand people who are.
Hayne just happens to be one, but I point out your sentence in red.

That was Jarryd's choice. So what if he didn't? That's the humble Hayne.

Read my first post, I said I don't get why people, I was generalising. I am happy for people to have faith if that gets them through life. Makes no difference to me really but I would love to hear someone get up and credit themselves when they accomplish something this big. Not big headed like I am the greatest, just how hard they worked to get it.

You can be humble and credit yourself in there somewhere surely? Once again, Hayne's tweet may have led me to have an opinion but I really was saying it as a generalisation.

His tweet just led me to say it was a shame people deflect away from themselves.

Again attempting to twist meaning and then belittling something you've made up yourself.

Unnecessary.

Twist meaning? Really? If I had a dollar for every time I've heard "it's all part of gods plan" in some iteration I would be loaded. In my experience the same people saying it are saying it about positive things, never about the atrocities that are happening around the world.

You can't have it both ways, that's just my opinion, which doesn't matter because I don't believe.

Just enjoy the ride. It's going to be fun.

What ride? Hayne's? Cause I am certainly 100% behind him and have been from the beginning. Never doubted he had the drive, determination or talent. It has been a great ride and as I already have Gamepass (to watch my team the Colts) I will be watching next Tuesday while at work.

Upset? I just said it's a shame originally. It was an opinion which I clearly can't have.

Getting upset is watching Parramatta f**k up another game they should have won.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion, buddy!

I just thought you were bothered by it.

It's funny how certain people have jumped on you for that. All you said was you don't get it - which is perfectly fair enough. A moron? I don't think so. The one's criticising you don't get it either. I wonder have they ever heard the expression: "Faith can move mountains - but don't forget to bring a shovel"? In other words, they probably think that having 'faith' in a higher power is some sort of psychological ploy.
My opinion is that God will help you do things; not do them for you.
It's also my opinion that God probably doesn't answer every request in the affirmative - much like any sane parent doesn't give their three-year-old child everything they want. A three year old can't work that out and doesn't think that's fair. But the point is: I DON'T KNOW. It's just my thinking on the matter. In the end, I don't get it either. Those criticising you are just bigots.

I agree - but I think the bigoted ones can bat for either side, if they criticise those who don't agree.

If you believe in God and shame those who don't, you're a bigot; if you actively (and this isn't a dig at you, Korny, but a comment at people in general) ridicule those who do believe in God, you, too, are a bigot.

As long as you don't hurt anyone, do what you like imo.

Not overly bothered, just an observation/opinion. Just a comment, seems other people were way more bothered by it.

All good, man.

I misread your tone and thought you were genuinely bothered, and was wondering why.

And you're spot on about Parra!

I know many people who have very strong faith. Never had any issues either way.

I don't really care what anyone believes, that's their business. When I get shit on for not believing or having a different opinion then I get annoyed.

I am actually fascinated by faith, not positively or negatively either, just fascinated. It must be very comforting to truly believe that something has your back like that. I'm just not wired that way. I have been let down too many times to believe in anyone/anything other than myself.......and even then I'm a little shaky.

You hit the big, hot, red button man, of course the flaming crosses were gonna come out..

If you want to, come at me. but really, if I offended you, and you're a christian, then forgive me. That's what you're supposed to do.

(BTW, I can't believe you guys went two pages hammering a guy cause he wants people to take credit for the effort they put in to achieving great things. You lot are truly funny. like reddit level funny..)

Yes really. You are interpreting this interventionist role both ways when no-one else is suggesting it.

If Hayne had claimed this was part of "gods plan" then you may have a point. But he didn't, so you don't. The only person claiming a "plan" here is you.

I agree, mate.

Religion is not for me, but it's kind of admirable that people believe and can do the most amazing things because of it.

All I said was I don't get it, FMD! It's like I'm not allowed to have an opinion because I don't believe in a fictional character in a fictional book.

Thats it - we are gonna tie you up and drag you along to Hillsong until you believe FFS

Strange post, because you questioned Jarryd's version of why he thinks the way he does? Yet all he has said is he thanks his faith in God.
Not quite sure where you're coming from any more.

Suity.
